So:

1- No Walking - let alone skating all summer
2- had part of his ankle removed during surgery
3-Did not play any pre-season games and even as he comes back they are giving him more off days to make sure he didn't over do it - as a result he is still not in full game shape
4- No Marc Methot

He has now 12 points in 8 games. is one point back of the league lead in defenceman in basically half the games and has the THIRD highest PPG total in the entire league. The other two guys have the benefit of playing with eachother in Tampa.

Matthews has 1.28 PPG for example. Karlsson has a 1.5 PPG

And if you look at Karlsson since he was 21, he's always shown that he only gets better as the season progresses.

1.5 ppg pace and being 1 point from leading all Dmen in just 8 games is pretty thread worthy. Its actually kind of remarkable considering the summer he had.

he must be drinking from Tom Brady's Tap water.

No it isn't.

It's just 8 games, as you said.

fine but if you take his PPG compared to all other defencemen in the last 3-4 years, go even 5 or 6. his PPG pace is likely so far ahead the next guy. Like Even Crosby does not even have that kind of seperation to the next forward. Not even close I would imagine.

Now there's three threads on the main board simultaneously about Erik Karlsson.

Well done.

He is arguably the best player in the world and he is going to dominate the defense scoring race

Amazing player

Not that anyone will read this post, but FYI non-Sens fans, Karlsson hasn't really looked that good this year. Making comments that he is bad defensively based on watching his play this year makes you seem extremely uninformed and ignorant since he normally plays a lot better defensively.

Anyways, seems like another bash Karlsson's defensive ability thread here so this should be fun.

With no skating or walking all summer and him not expected to be back until about now.. (early November) could you really have expected or predicted he would be any better.

He's had 1 bad game and one game where he was meh. The rest of the games he has been one if not the best player on the ice.

I don't think anybody could expect he would be any better.

Karlsson is amazing defensively. One bad game where his goalie was even worse is silly.

Even Tom Brady the GOAT in his sports has had brutal games.

in 2003 Brady completed a mere 50%, got killed 30-0 and threw 4 interceptions..

lets not pretend this was a playoff game either.

Nobody elevates more than EK65 when things matter most.

hes on a mission this year. He wants that Norris and to prove that the sens run wasnt just a fluke

Imo he likely doesn't care at all about personal awards, he is after the big one.

I don't think he is back to himself in many aspects but will likely get there shortly.

Matthews is better defensively than EK65
