He was not loved
It’s like looking at an ad for anything that seems to good to be true. How does a guy go from 60 points just two seasons ago to a 7th round pick at 50% retained? There has to be something missing here.

I thought this guy was pretty decent (as in, not good defensively at all, but good enough offensively to justify a third pairing spot, kinda like MAB actually) but apparently it's not even that.

He had 60 pts in 79 games back in 2018-19 ....this year 10 pts in 24 games...still 29 yrs old...worth a 7th gamble for sure...254 NHL games 129 pts..

.better than Vic Mete...

This has Janne Niiniima written all over it.

But I'm with you - worth a 7th round gamble, even if it doesn't work out.

very very good deal . He is not that bad and wahy better then we had in his position

Sounds like the quotes when we landed the amazing Scandella. Momesso was freaking out what a underappreciated player we landed. Then there was David Schlemko, what a move that was. Oh my how he was going to solidify our blueline, good times.

Gustafsson is a 1/2 a point a game D man...245 games he got 129 pts...we got him for a 7th rounder???

0 Risk in this one...

Definitely agree, he costs nothing and could be starting player in the lineup. Not a big deal, but it's something.

The risk is to play him too much. Ok he can be useful on the PP but otherwise is a big time negative asset. I'm pretty sure he is a case of 7D-11F. You play him on the PP and 4-5 minutes on the 4th line.

Me: Not doing anything for a complete week of "work".
My boss: Hey! Monstro! You **** you did not do **** this week you're fired.
Me: But boss it did not cost you anything.
My boss: It cost me your salary dumb ***.
Me: Yes, but i did not f*** it up so the net result of my week of "work" not doing anything is neutral.
My boss: That makes sense you're not fired anymore i'll extend your contract for another 5 years.

It's simple he had a fluke season and its obvious
Flyers are 1 of the worst team defensively on the league and they had Gustafsson as a 8th because he can't play D for shit and his offensive stats are not even that good.
This is why it's only a 7th round pick for 2022 even at 50%.

He won't change anything in this roster. Dude is a literal Marc André Bergeon

No he is bad but he’s better than mete. And the day ended and all out prospects and high picks are still with the habs. Great day
Now f*** off Bergevin
