He always finished his checks, he didn't hit to destroy like Lucic, but he was consistently hitting the other teams' players. He his a lot more than most of the people on the team.

He threw a huge hit last game too.

Honestly, fair deal.

The fact Ryder isn't signed after gives us more flexibility.

Obviously Cole is a good teammate and had a very strong game in close. We will miss that in-close game but at same time, they took no risks with asset management here. Got rid of his contract before it became a problem.

'Cause they think he can get it going again. They would have lost Ryder for nothing, they have another year of Cole. A fast player that had a succesful season last year. That's about the only reason why.

It could work out for them. I mean, almost every player we traded has worked out fine for the receiving team.....so we never know.

I know it works out GREAT for us.

This is a smart, well thought out trade. We just got rid of a bad contract for a guy who hasn't been performing and has been vocally less than motivated to play. Also, Ryder is arguably as good as Cole. This is a win for sure. Very smart, cap conscious, forward thinking trade by Bergevin.

We're not in first, technically in 4th and bound for a losing streak, even .500 hockey will bring us down to 7th or 8th the way the Leafs and Ottawa are playing. Rangers will eventually get going too.
