Ajax fired Mislintat just now. What a catastrophe he has been. Spent a record transfer fee on about a dozen mediocre players, most coming out of second leagues abroad; neglecting the academy he has at his disposal and never once communicated with headcoach Steijn about the club’s actual needs. Not only that, he apparently benefitted from the transfer of Sosa to Ajax.

Really the sole reason for this absolute craptastic season Ajax is having on all fronts.

Then and there
Another suspended match for Ajax, this time on 84th minute when they were leading 3-2 away against RKC.

Brobbey was on a partial breakthrough which resulted him kicking the RKC keeper in the head. Hope the keeper surives without any permanent long term effects.

Terrifying incident, sounds like Vaessen was responsive leaving the field which is a positive.

Anton Gaaei is the worst player i ever seen.
I think Mikautadze, Akpom, Medic and Sutalo should give him a serious run for his money. Absolutely horrible displays by all so far.

Ajax just lost vs AZ, having now dropped to relegation territory. Coach Steijn will surely be fired these next few days, weeks at most.

You can lose to AZ, they're a good team, but you can't look this bad if you're Ajax. I think today they played even worse than against Feyenoord but AZ failed to completely humiliate them. Crowd was also very mellow as if they've already lost hope for the rest of the season.

I think there is a legit chance Ajax gets relegated. Might be one of the biggest failures ever in the history of football if it happens

Ajax lose again, 4-3 in a crazy game against Utrecht. Firmly locked in a relegation spot right now with 5 pts from 7 games.

Then and there
Sosa had two assists which were both well finished by Hlynsson, first with chest and second a header, but Ajax defence was poor again.

Summed up by Sutalo blasting the ball straight at opponent which lead to counter attack and the winning goal right after the restart (match was suspended for a while in th 89th minute after plastic cups were thrown onto pitch).

Ajax even had to change their keeper because of injury.

Ajax now in last place in the Eredivisie

Actually played well in the first half against PSV and were up 2-1 at HT but then folded like a house of cards and lost 5-2 thanks to a Chucky Lozano hattrick.

They have played 2 games less and I of those that was postponed is Volendam. Not sure who the other is but Volendam is a very winnable game for them so they could climb out with those 2 games. Obviously they shouldn't be in this position at all but they have too much talent to stay there and there are a lot of mediocre teams in the league so there's points out there. They aren't going to make European football next year though so that's a big hit for them.

Not sure what's coming through the system but they don't have any big sellable pieces on the current squad. Taylor was looking like he could be but now looks like they'll just get average value if they sell him. So the retool next year is gonna be tough without Europe or any big sales. They are still big enough to raid lesser leagues for talent and most other Eridivise clubs, they just need the right manager and they should be back in the top 3.

Ajax are in dreadful form. The results are appalling. They've replaced their stars with journeymen pushing 30. Branco van den Boomen has a cool name and scored a nice goal but not a replacement for what has been lost. Crisis in Amsterdam.

Van Den Boomen is a nice player, but you can't expect him to score. He's a DM with great passing ability.

Even some of the younger players... premium fees for mediocre players, 13M for Avila, 16M for Mikautadze etc.. not to Menton Gaaei who might be the worst back in the Eredivisie. Some hilarious defending again from him today.

What happened to their academy?

Same with Lyon. Mind boggling what is happening to both of these clubs.

Give some time to George. He's quality.
No idea why Ajax fans point to him even though he has played 160 minutes out of 8 games.
Blame the guys who actually play.

Huge save by Ajax keeper Ramaj on 70th minute when Volendam player was through on goal as Ajax played a very high line.

Ajax have controlled the match and have had more chances, especially in the first half, but it's still only 1-0.

Edit: Akpom likely secures the points for Ajax with his 89th minute headed goal. He also he the post few minutes later.

Ajax's worst final position in the league was 13th in the 1960s (which was also their worst decade as a whole, with several finishes in the 5th to 6th position). If they can secure more wins like today without being particularly impressive, they could climb up the table enough to do better than back in those days.
