That's exactly what I expected. Luckily the 4 days off will eat up a lot of that time. 3-5 Pete Dawg games with Muse as the back up I'm assuming.

So the goaltending tandem for the two most important games of the season is Peters/Muse or Murphy?

At least it's only a week or two. Peters has played pretty well so far. He should be able to hold down the fort for a few games. Whatever backup we sign/callup won't see any playing time unless peters gets hurt :knock on wood:. I was kinda surprised that we kept going back to Ellis in recent games... I thought we were going to do a rotating tandem with Ellis/Peters.

He most likely would already have made it as Ellis probably never gets signed if he had signed with us.

Not sure, as I'm not sure we would have traded Boosh if we hadn't had Ellis in the AHL to start during the lockout. But worst case is Andersen likely would be the backup right now, and quite possibly would be the starter since while Peters doesn't suck or anything he's nothing special, looks more like your standard high-end AHL starter/passable NHL backup. Andersen on the other hand has looked like a future NHL starter in the making the past couple years and has done nothing to dissuade that opinion.

You guys are acting like it matters who's in net. Until these clowns start playing hockey like they give a ****, which they clearly don't right now, it doesn't matter who is in the net. I don't think they care either.

So what exactly is the deal with Andersen? Excuse my ignorance on that one, I've only heard a couple things about him.

Not to mention now we're without Corvo, Sangs and Faulk, I'm really hoping JR does something this weekend.

exactly. not only would he be getting called up, i bet he'd be getting his NHL debut in the next few games.

Given that we would never have signed Ellis, I bet he'd have made his NHL debut quite some time ago. At this point he'd be the stone-cold starter.

(assuming he wasn't injured like everyone else)

edit: whoa, weird time warp. Looks like I was about 45 minutes behind on that one.

Except that when they do get back on track, it most definitely WILL matter who is in net.

Drafted by the Canes, and refused to sign a contract because there was too much goalie competition in our system. Re-drafted and signed in Anaheim where he gets to be behind Fasth, Hiller and quite possibly Gibson.

Since we are all doing "what-ifs".

If Andersen was the back-up vs. Ellis, then Ward may not have even started the game he got injured in. Ward was only starting that game because Ellis had the flu. If Andersen would have been the backup, maybe he wouldn't have been sick and Ward wouldn't have played?

So maybe if he had signed with Carolina, he'd be the one that would have been injured in that FLA game as opposed to Ward. :naughty:

Agent told him that Carolina was a logjam of goalies so he advised Frederik not to sign in Carolina. This after Frederik had told the Canes he planned on signing with us then changed agents to his current one (the one who told him to reject the Canes). So Frederik reentered the draft, got selected by Anaheim, and is now stuck in the AHL behind Hiller and Fasth (SEL top netminder last year who signed during the last offseason). Now Anaheim's situation looks much tougher to crack as we've had several departures/injuries/disappointments and Anaheim has added some solid guys.

Exactly. I blame Andersen's agent for Ward's injury. :sarcasm:

Dan Ellis is limping around RCI. Said he has about 17 stitches. Cut just missed his MCL, which obviously could have made matters worse.

Hey, our luck is starting to turn better!
