I wanna see more consistent production before he is out of the, “PO underperformer”, bracket.

But, as he has been injured, he is exused for not continuing the production in his 2nd game back.
He was an inch away from ending it on the PP, totally beat Smith, just nicked the crossbar. 2 PO's ago when he wasnt getting on the scoresheet, he was still playing the right way and consistent in his game. He's only become better. Sometimes you get the inch, sometimes not.

If you just care about scoring, I think we'd see some higher numbers with ESW (based on past performance). I think we'd have a better chance at beating the Leafs with that combo, but looks unlikely that CSW will be split up...

Hey man, I am in the camp that thinks he was good even without the production.

But to truly get that label of him, he needs just a teeny tiny bit more.

I still worry he reaggravated his shoulder in that last game. He took a heavy hit and left the ice early on a shift.

Hope he was just winded.
He's one of our players that really benefits from getting these extra days off! I hope we're all healthy for the Leaves.

Edit: this was back when it was 3-1 Laffs. You'll have to pardon my assumption that Tranna had the ability to close down a 1st round series... So delicious...

Habs fan here, I just came to say how much respect I gained for Ehlers for shielding Evans from that scrum. True class act, he always seemed like a great guy even before this and an amazing hockey player to boot. If he ever decides to leave the peg (which I doubt will be any time soon), I'd be ecstatic if the Habs ever managed to land him. One of my favourite players around the league, phenomenal player!

What an image -- has to be in the running for NHL Foto of the Year. Drama, courage, composition. Wow.

Nik is a class act, always has been, and what he did there isn't easy, especially for a smaller player, but it had to be done and it worked.

I've seen a few posts and pundits worrying that Ehlers will now be targeted by the Habs in a gud hockey-code/ eye-for-an-eye response to 55's moment of madness hit, but I don't see it happening. I suspect that Habs players respect what he did there and will not go out of their way to injure an already-injured player, and I suspect that there'd be pretty major blowback, including from Habs fans, if such a thing went down.

Looking for a big series from Nik now. And maybe PoMo finds it in his heart to renew that legendary offer for a spot on PP1 in Scheifele's absence, and not in the hole.

Not Ehlers. Connor maybe. They should respect Ehlers for protecting Evans.

Well, he's certainly doing better than his fellow 2014 draftees!

I was counting in that Dal Colle thread, ignoring Kapanen who was traded back to Pittsburgh after being deemed dispensable, I think only 8 players from that first round are with the team that drafted them.

Ekblad
Drai
Nylander
Ehlers
Larkin
Sanheim
Pastrnak
Kempe

Only 5 in the top 15. Ooof.

I guess Honka counts but there's a slim chance he ever plays a game for Dallas again

Ehlers season starts tomorrow the 26/8 when he will try help Denmark qualify for the Olympics for the first time. He has been in Danish Training Camp the past couple of weeks.. and tomorrow the first match is against Slovenia.. then the 27/8 against South Korea and finally against Norway the 29/8.. Hopefully Bjorkstrand and Ehlers will lead our small Country to the Olympics for the first time ever.

it's weird that segments of Jets fans still think Ehlers is no bueno or is a product of maurice

wish we could replicate this guy on every line tbh

since 18-19 top TOI descending down for Fwds

like with any "with vs without" stats other factors/variables need to be taken into consideration (ie: Fwd replacing ehlers with the specific teammate). but i think the stats bear out what most people who pay attention to Jets games see

So a Copp-PLD-Ehlers line it is!
