Well McLellan had Spooner for 2 games and Hitch had him for 2 games and both used him in a pretty identical manner, Hitch is making the change in his 3rd game with the team, something McLellan didn't have the opportunity to do.
It was a nice effort with a wrap-around finish, as well. He had like three chances, including a post.

Well he did pull about this roster out of his ass so that says a lot.
If Chiarelli finds an actual upgrade on Matt Benning it would be the first time he actually bothered to upgrade the defense in over a year.
About Chiarelli doing what he should have done a very long time ago? Better late than never, I suppose. I hope Chris Wideman is that guy.

He's currently on his longest pts draught of his entire career in the NHL, 10 GP without a point, and on his worse pace ever (by far) with 2 pts in 20 GP. Maybe this is his new normal, but I wouldn't bet on it.
