This just isn't that hard to understand.

Brad Marchand has a reputation and is hated by most of the hockey world.

When he does something stupid, it's going to get more scrutiny that it might deserve.

This 'punch' is nothing, except it was the most hated player in the league.

It's made his and the Bruins lives more difficult, something they don't need right now.

Not to mention his coach just went to bat for him after game 2, then he takes a costly penalty and the punch.

It was an indefensible move by Marchand probably out of frustration. This series has really shown why toughness is needed bc its open season on all bruin skill players who are now the nail and not the hammer as seen in years past

I remember Julien in 11 sent the team on a mini break to Vermont when they were down 2 zip it worked wonders for the teams coincidence. Cassidy doesn't have the time for that now but maybe all going to McDonald's tonight and having a cone right now enjoying themselves might cause positive vibrations. They just a little frustrated and need some mental happy confidence.

McDonalds really??

You have stock? Being that their in Ohio, why not send them on a field trip to the football Hall of Fame, escorted by Julian Edelman and Gronk.

I’ve been at the games in this series at ice level and the Bluejackets were knocking the **** out of the Bruins

I’m just going by the eye ball test - they were hitting them hard

I’ve got people telling me ‘oh, no, it’s even blah blah blah’

Not in my world

As for Columbus- it’s not an 8 seed talent wise. The team they are icing is no worse than second seed in that division likely one seed.

They are put together the way I like it

Big and tough but with skill like Panaren, Duchene, and Atkinson.

They have 2 stud D and a world class Goalie.

They have a super young star in Dubois.

They have one weakness - they don’t have some of their best players signed

They are worthy in my view of a long run if they get by Boston

But I’ve read here that they’re lucky...

Frustrating game and series so far. Hard to watch the B's play like this - disjointed, sloppy, some players lacking intensity, bad puck management - when we know they can play better.

Columbus has been good, full marks to them; but if the Bruins were bringing their A game, the series would be at least 2-1 for the Bruins, if not 3-0.

Some thoughts:
  • Instead of being our most consistent and effective forward, Charlie Coyle should be about 5th or 6th. This series would essentially be over if our star forwards were playing like it.
  • Would be nice to see a 6'9" D-man clear the crease a little better so Columbus players aren't able to pounce on rebounds. Two crucial goals given up that way. I know it's easier said than done, and easy for me to say, but, still... clear them outta there!!
  • Rask has been fine. 100% not the problem.
That's all I got.

The Bruins certainly seem to like torturing us in the playoffs. They can still win this series if the right players start showing up and they start to play better and smarter as a team.

I think some of our fans were arrogant coming into this series, still are. Might be time to give Columbus some credit here.

They’ve been physical, they are frustrating the hell out of this team offensively and Bobrovsky’s been on a stretch of excellent play. I think he could have been had last night but he’s in their heads right now.

10 games in and we’re still waiting for our first line to pull it together and play anywhere near their capabilities. Bruins are only down 1, very much still in this series but they’ve got to do better than what we’ve seen from them the majority of their playoffs so far.

I have commented on those several times. I thought Chara should have been penalized and I thought Anderson was coming in high. He didn’t connect, thus, no penalty. If he connected? Sure. Could have even been a major, but he didn’t.

That work? Your turn.

Now, when did I say I wanted Marchand traded and a soft hockey team? Go ahead, I’ll wait.
I assumed you liked soft teams the way you cried about a love tap the the “victim “ called a hockey play. But I see now you just expect everyone to be perfect and have no emotion, you know, like a robot. Marchand is who he is, got there by being who he is, not going to change. I will take the “today Marchand” over the Marchand you want seven days a week.

But I’ve read here that they’re lucky...

They have been lucky, many times. But you need to be lucky in order to win in the playoffs, Thats ok.

This crap about the Blue Jackets knocking the Bruins around is pure garbage. Ask many of the BlueJackets how they are feeling, Bruins have knocked the snot out of just as many guys on that team.

Anderson is a fraud and Goon Jenner along with Savard could be called 5 times a games for holding or interference. The Bruins will prevail, the Blue Jackets are not that good.

In fact if the Bruins lose to this team it's a major choke job

I love that you call him Goon Jenner because I do too

But if they beat the Bruins it’s no choke and no joke. Columbus is for real. You don’t beat Tampa 4 straight and if they beat the Bruins it’s not a fluke.

I think a lot of posters on this board are seriously underrating the Bue Jackets

Disappointing yes but not a choke.

Oh, so you assumed? Perfect, gotcha. You clearly haven’t seen me post in this place if you “assume” I want soft hockey.

I called out Marchand for being an idiot and putting yet another target on his back. Maybe “todays” Marchand should worry about putting the puck in the net because a 0-0-0 and -2 through the first 3 games isn’t really cutting it. He should probably worry more about that side of the game instead of pulling another one over the refs.

season on the line for this team tomorrow they all better show up

Yup, Not the same significance but its eerie familiar. When late in the season the Bruins had lost two in a row and needed a win to clinch home ice and they went into Columbus and gave them a royal beat-down 6-2 in a game the Jackets still needed to get into the dance and they were riding high on a 5 game winning streak.

Hey, just curious, I am sitting here watching the NY Ils vs Canes and in the last three minutes on the second period there were two scrums, I counted 4 punches per scrum for a total of eight. I was wondering when you will be on the main board chiming in on these dirty plays. Also when the Ils scored Bailey tapped the Canes goalie on the head, should he expect a call from the league or is this considered normal because it is not Marchand.

Dude, you’re so far out to lunch right now. It’s incredible. Absolutely incredible how you can pop on here and say “you know what, I think I’m making total sense here. I’m going to post this”

Two guys in a scrum giving each other a few shots isn’t the same as going behind a guy, nowhere near a scrum, and giving him a shot in the back of the head.

I almost feel like I need to put together a power point presentation for you.
