It's pretty clearly one of the following:

McDavid
MacKinnon
Malkin
Gibson
Filppula

I think it's tough to say either Bergeron or Mackinnon with the way their linemates are playing.
They are both one of the best in the business but their linemates have been killing it this season and would feel bit wrong for them.

They went past the second round on the backs of unsustainable career years for all.. similar to Vegas last year.

McDavid was having a career year? Drai? Klefbom? Larsson? So you mean their core players have peaked and have no room to improve?

Thanks, I was worried I would have to watch these guys play to know how there careers played out.

Your take is unoriginal, uninformed, played out, and over simplistic.

McDavid for sure. Second is Aho IMO.

Not sure about Malkin, PIT is a solid team compared to the above. And he has Crosby who is contributing to the success as well.

McDavid and Aho has a harder job than Malkin and their absence would have a greater impact on the team than Malkins.

Surprised to see MacKinnon so much. He hasn't even been his own teams MVP so far this season.

Right now answer is clearly McDavid. If Edmonton makes it in he's automatically the winner.

This is some ultra Canadian/North-American view point bias.
Like how does MacKinnon even enter the discussion before Rantanen?
Spill over from last year.
Rantanen needs to prove he can drive that line to the end.
Nominating MacK for this season is a pretty dumb pick tbh.

I guess we'll see. McDavid can only carry them so far.. look at last season.

Why should it matter if they make the playoffs? His value isn't any less if they miss the playoffs by 1 point vs. making it.

He is leading that team every shift he is out there AND he is producing.

Seriously though, of course it will be McDavid.

If the Oilers fire McLellan they make the playoffs.
