From Expansion Team to Playoff Team

Building through the draft and wise spending have taken the Portland Outlaws from an expansion team to a playoff team in just three years.

Ending their season with a 41-28-13 record the Outlaws faced the Lightning in round 1 and got swept. Mark Streit has told management this is his last season. Dany Heatley led the team with 27 goals in the regular season. #27in16

Pittsburgh beats Columbus; heading to Round 2​

The Penguins took on the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 1st Round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Pittsburgh had a 46-25-11 (3rd place in the league) record in the regular season, while Columbus had a 46-28-8 record (6th place in the league). The Penguins made a big acquisition at the trade deadline to really push there cup chances, while Columbus stayed silent.

In the draft the Outlaws held pick 18 and traded all their other picks (48 was the highest) for pick 28.
