I'm always amazed when another guy turns up who was right in my "sweet spot" of following hockey! Doug Jarrett, 11 years as a Blackhawk, played 54 games over his last 2 seasons with the Rangers, 75-77?! I have no recollection of this at all. Apparently neither does the net as I can't find any publicity or action pics other than this one:

This is actually a photo of him participating in his final career hockey game. He would score a goal, break his foot, and then retire

Paul Coffey played for 9 teams as did Jagr. They both hold the record for Hall of Fame players. You'd think that lessens the weirdness but no.

Jagr's career as a Bruin (11 games) was half as long as his time with the Flames.

On September 25th, 1993 Gretzky's LA Kings played their IHL minor league affiliate, the Phoenix Roadrunners, in a pre-season exhibition game. Gretzky, goaltender Kelly Hrudey and three other Kings regulars were "demoted" to the minor leagues for the event.

The publicity stunt worked as a Roadrunners franchise record for attendance was established at 13,747. Gretzky scored twice as the Roadrunners beat the Kings 6-5 in an overtime shootout.

Always think of Bobby Baun as a Leaf.

Bernie Parent. Remember him from the Broad Street Bullies Flyers clubs of the 70’s.

Borje Salming. Long time Leaf. I remember that awful cut he had on his face from a skate blade. I think he ended up with over 100 stitches. Ouch.

Clark Gillies. I don’t think he ended up playing a full year with Buffalo. Had to hang them up due to injury.

Kent Nilsson. Former longtime Flame, had a brief stint with the Oilers.

The 1987 Oilers are an underrated challenger for the "if they were all in their prime" sweepstakes with the 2002 Red Wings. Not just because of Gare and Nilsson, but also because of the short-ish overlap between the Moog/Coffey era and Tikkanen's appearance on the team.

Gillies actually spent a season-and-a-half with the Sabres. He played the full 1986-87 season in Buffalo and then played 25 more games the following season before retiring.

Kent Nilsson. Former longtime Flame, had a brief stint with the Oilers.

Nilsson actually had two stops with the Oilers. He was traded there by the Minnesota North Stars in 1986-87 and put up 17 points in 17 games for Edmonton then added 19 more in 21 post-season games en route to a Stanley Cup championship. He then left the NHL and spent the next seven years playing in Europe before returning to the Oilers for the lockout shortened 1995 season for a stint that lasted just six games and Nilsson was clearly no longer an NHL calibre player. He did, however, score a goal during his six game run and that gave him an even 900 points split between his NHL and WHA career.
