If he keeps playing most of the times like his first two games of the season, no way Drouin will be on the trade block.

If anyone watched the leafs/Habs game last night, you got a taste of what Drouin can do at both ends of the ice. He was laying the body and opening space for his linemates. He was flying out there and was pushing the play.

He is a changed man. I have never seen this kind of complete game from him like what he has accomplished the first 2 games. He scored a goal but that was the least of his impact. He us going shut up so many people in this thread. I hope this mega thread is allowed to continue over the course of the year.

If you could count on him doing that he wouldn’t have been traded to Montreal in the first place.

If this turns out to be the year that Drouin finally gets his head on straight then great, but the issue with him was never that he wasn’t capable of playing like he’s played these last two games - it’s that he only plays that way when he feels like it. Let’s see if he can keep this level of effort going on a consistent basis before people start talking him up like he’s changed.

He’s made strides to study his game, disect the problems and implement changes. We are seeing the fruit of his labor. Imagine a young kid maturing... who would have thunk it!!’

the Drouin that has played the last 2 games is untouchable. Heck, habs fans will settle for 55-60 'intense' games per year lol. he's a real talent when he decides to play

Which is why he was never going to be traded for some of the crap offered here. None of us have any idea if he can keep up the effort (two games means nothing), but Drouin's talent + Montreal's general depth means that finding a trade that makes sense for Montreal unlikely.

Still think he's a bum.

Until he shows consistency, I ain't rooting for him.

I feel that he's one turnover away from becoming devastated and losing his mind and game again.

He’s a certified bum that will always look at his best in the beginning of seasons, when opposing teams have yet to find their intensity, or generally games with little hitting or nothing on the line (I suspect he will shine in late season games that oppose eliminated teams).

Can you imagine if the habs were a steady playoff team and we had to rely on this skating disgrace to win rounds ? Oh man.

He won'T play like this all year, but at least you will see his raw talents, he is hot atm

I don’t think anybody doubts his ceiling or his raw talent. It’s his enormous ego, tendency to pout when criticized, nonexistent work ethic, inconsistent effort, insistence on trying to make the flashy play in every situation, and refusal to play defense most of the time that are his major issues. And unless and until he resolves those all you’re going to have is an underachiever who frustrates you with tantalizing glimpses of the sort of player he could be on a regular basis, but only is when he feels like it.

Doesnt seem like they have any want to move him, not sure why we need this big a megathread

Habs management believe in Drouin but a large % of the fan base does not and we have a huge fan base with different opinions all over the place. This is the reason why Drouin has been talked about in rumors.

Drouin is off to a good start with Kotkaniemi and he is our best play making player on our PP. We need Drouin to be the player he can be. If he is traded, it's not going to be for peanuts. I'd like to see Drouin play with an elite center cause he never has. Stamkos was hurt when Drouin was with the Lightning. Drouin and Domi look good at times but them playing together is risky in the 200' game cause Domi is not a complete center yet. If Kotkaneimi can get to the top 2C level sooner rather than later, I think Drouin fits with him. For now, we have to live with the growing pains.

I always thought he has the real talent and sometimes the speed it's always been more about consistency with him and motivation I guess
