Would be a good trade for Montreal, Saad is better than Drouin overall. But people seem to think for some reason that he's a cap dump so Habs fans will probably turn this down.

Am I missing something? Why does Chicago do this? They need more players who can play 200ft like Saad and play inside the dots, not more guys like drouin who is a perimeter dancer and lacks interest a lot and awful in his own zone

Nothing against Saad but its a coin flip at best. They both produce the same amount of pts. Maybe Saad plays a better 200ft game but Drouin has more game breaking ability when hes not feeling lazy.

So its a meh. Not good, not bad.

Ya maybe.. but Drouin has the game breaking talent to score 4p if he feels like it. He's cielling is overall way better but harder to attain

Is he the best player, though?

More than 2 years older, with 2 years left vs 4 on his deal, basically producing at the same rate (after a season in which everyone said Drouin sucked).

You can prefer Saad style/grit/etc, but let's just say I think Drouin has quite a bit more value... And that Perlini would not crack Montreal line-up. He's a big guy, I'll give you that.

Drouin playing with Patrick Kane would be so awesome, though.

Drouin is redundant in Chicago; he is basically a worse DeBrincat at this point. I can't imagine Toews and Drouin playing effectively together.

Also Saad and Perlini are really not big additions to the current Montreal roster.

Boqvist or Gustaffson are the only Blackhawks that both the Habs would want, and the Hawks would consider trading. Unfortunately, Drouin isn't enough for either.
