Chara should have had two to be fair and is historically one of the better shut down defensemen of all time.having already 2 Cups and a Norris vs 1 Cup and 1 Norris, Ill say DD
Chara should have had two to be fair
What a coincidence because EKs 2012 should have been Doughtys.Doughty's norris should have been Karlsson's
Yup. Swap the 2015 and 2016 Norrises and nobody has any issue with anything. As it is, Doughty beating out Karlsson's best season leaves a bad taste in many mouths. What a coincidence because EKs 2012 should have been Doughtys.
There is more to defense than scoring points. Doughty shows this while still scoring a good amount.
He would have won this year if he hadn't won before so be careful what you wish for.Doughty should not have a Norris
That would have been absolutely silly if he won it this year. Granted no dman stood out last year but Hedman had comparable possession to Doughty and better offense. He would have won this year if he hadn't won before so be careful what you wish for.
The voting was close enough to claim that the Due Doughty factor would have swung it.That would have been absolutely silly if he won it this year. Granted no dman stood out last year but Hedman had comparable possession to Doughty and better offense.
Hedman had 53% xGF% Doughty had 51%. Doughty did have better relative to team hence why I say comparable. The voting was close enough to claim that the Due Doughty factor would have swung it.
Also Doughty's impact numbers at 5on5 were way better than Hedman's last year.
And then you look at their xGF% QoT:Hedman had 53% xGF% Doughty had 51%. Doughty did have better relative to team hence why I say comparable.
Looking at their toi qot and the fact that Hedman lugged around Dotchin for most of the year I think that number is skewed. And then you look at their xGF% QoT:
Hedman 52.43
Doughty 45.92
And you realize it's not comparable at all. Hedman won for 2 reasons: 1) He had not won a Norris yet 2) He scored a bunch of goals
