Drai's stats without McDavid are a little damning, but that's not the end all be all.

If we're just taking who is better right now 1v1 without looking at anything else it probably is Drai by a hair. But when factoring in contracts, linemates, defensive play, etc. then I just don't see how you can vote against Larkin.

I really hope Zadina develops as planned because I really want to see what Larkin can do with true high-end offensive talent. He's been playing with Helm, Abdelkader and Nyquist all season and is still nearly PPG with high defensive acumen.

RNH is playing with those exact same players and he's on pace for 75 points while being leaps and bounds better defensively.
40% of his points are with McDavid and Drai so I don't get how you can argue that against Drai (needing good players to produce) but use it as a good thing for Nuge.

If anything, all that shows is how underatedly good Nuge really is.

At 5v5, RNH has a 2.011 P/60 (12 points in 358 minutes) with McDavid or Draisaitl on the ice, and a 2.0 P/60 (11 points in 330 minutes) with both of them off the ice this season.

RNH's production barely drops (by .011 per 60 minutes) despite playing with substantially weaker linemates. Draisaitl's production takes a massive hit, to the point where he barely even produces at the rate of a 2nd line C, without McDavid. Draisaitl is also one of the worst players in the league defensively, and is prone to pouting when he doesn't get to play with his buddy Connor.

I agree with you that Nuge is stupidly underrated, but Draisaitl leeches points off McDavid and can't produce on his own. Larkin is better.

McLarkin >> McDrai

Gimme the ACTUAL center that doesn't get to play 70% of his minutes with McDavid.

Drai was pacing ppg with Taylor Hall in low scoring years

yet he didn't reach it. he must have gone on a huge slump if he was pacing it for a significant time, because he finished the season with 51 points in 72 games.

Larkin. Better 2 way game. Larkin is becoming a superstar (not there yet) but he is getting there. Larkin is elevating others while Drai leaches off of McDavid. Look at the resurgence of Nyquist it is no coincidence that he's been on a line with Larkin all year. Larkin also gives other teams top forwards/lines fits

Only drops by .11 cause draisaitl and mcdavid are so much better than mcdavid and rnh so of course draisaitl has a bigger gap between with and without mcdavid

Draisaitl has a 3.15 P/60 (28 points in 534 minutes) while playing with McDavid or RNH, and a 1.52 P/60 (7 points in 274 minutes) without McDavid or RNH this season, which is well below Nuge's stats away from the other two Cs.

His production is cut in half when he has to drive his own line. His P/60 away from Connor and Nuge would put him 205th in the NHL (among players with 200+ minutes played). If all 3 players were playing on separate lines, RNH would outscore Draisaitl handily at 5v5.

Homer voted Larkin, but realistically this is Draisaitl.

Things could change though. Larkin's year to year progressions have surpassed what anybody expected of him.

Draisaitl would be a 60 point player without McDavid.

How many points Point would have without Kucherov? How many points MacKinnon would have without Rantanen? How many points Monahan would have without Gaudreau? and so on...
If Draisaitl plays on the Oilers 2nd line its similar to play with 4th line players on other teams.
