It's from this week (today?). At the start of the video it says Vancouver, Canada on the top left.
Yeah, and he also says "not much has changed since our meetings in La Quinta."

I thought they flew out yesterday, which is why I was guessing it was from today. Though that would be a fast turnaround time, for sure. You're probably right, and I probably got the travel time wrong.

So who is your favorite prospect in this draft?

Not necessarily who you think is the best, or most talented. Who is a guy (or two) you just really like as a prospect.

Byram and Zegras for me.

Its funny. Self-admittingly i am a huge fan of a North American style of hockey specifically USA hockey and where it is today. And..in a year where USA players are going to dominate the first half of the draft, none are in my top 3 favorites for this draft class.

Kappo Kakko: Kakko is definatley my favorite prospect. Not because he is the most talented, i just think he is the right fit here. I feel that Kakko, more then pretty much any Prospect since 2016 draft fits the NY Rangers need. For the past decade on this site we as Rangers fans have discussed the lack of high end talent in the Rangers top 6...And to be more specific we discuss that when we do get these guys its via trade or free agency and they are past prime. If Kakko is a NYR tomorrow, we are not only getting that guy. We are getting him at the right time. A time when the club committed to a rebuild. A time when the club committed to a new "style" of play. #Relentless is how they want to play under Quinn. Well, come tomorrow they have a player who is the very definition of that style of attack hockey. A player with size, speed, the hockey IQ and the elite skillset to go with it. A player that can bring these tools to the NYR's top line. It's one thing to have players that can play this style in your middle 6. It's another, to have it on your top line. IMO Kakko is the best candidate for the new style of hockey this club is playing.

Vasiliy Podkolzin: Statistics aside, and for the same reasons as the aforementioned Podkolzin is right under Kakko for me. While he hasn't found the back of the net as much as he was expected to, i think his shot is absolutely world class. His skating for a big guy is also world class and my favorite attribute is his tenacity. He, like Kakko to me would fit perfect into Quinn's system. I also think he is a very responsible 2 way forward, which is something that you don't see too much of on his scouting reports. He just screams NHL player to me, and i think he is going to be a difference maker when he eventually makes it to the NHL.

Peyton Krebs: I think Peyton got a lot of heat in his draft year that to me was a bit unwarranted. I also think Stat-watchers didn't think he did enough to warrant a pick in the top half of the draft let alone the top 10. To me, he is just a fun player to watch. Not a highlight reel guy, but when watching full games, he is always a factor. I felt like he took over games more then any other player I watched this year not named Kakko. Krebs was on a losing squad, on one of the worst clubs yet he himself remained full of piss and vinegar. I thought he was the best player for Canada at 2019 u-18's. He captained the ship there and while they fell short of the prize, Krebs was great. I love the Toews comparable for him. Future leader, 200 ft player that will be a fan favorite for whoever drafts him.

Not alot of talk about Danny Weight. Going to Penticton next season, Boston College after that. He's not ranked highly at all, but he'll be drafted, will be interesting to see where.....

Also, another player with NHL bloodlines.....

Jack York at eliteprospects.com

Jack York(father is Jason), RHD, possible late round pick. Kid has nice agility, skating, quick hard point shot/wrister. Needs work on the defensive end but puck moving and shot are not bad.

There were numerous kids from the area that to be honest were better then Danny. Pedigree is everything when it comes to USDP. Its also unfortunate for the other kids that don't have the bloodline.

You don't have to tell me, there was a lot of that even way back when I was an amateur player. Though I can't complain too much because I did get some special treatment being where I was from and attending certain hockey schools.

I think there could be some potential there with Weight, just didn't get to see him enough. What little I did see was not bad, at least to take a late flyer on.

How about some 'Gordie Howe Hat trick' overagers?

Mark Kastelic had 47 goals in 67 games, 6 goals in 9 playoff games.

Jon Yantsis had 50 in 68 games, here he is already wearing our colors and beating up a Flyer prospect:

Im hoping they select Narvin Mutter with a late pick, just because he's the best Hockey name out of the draft and a complete badass!

In all honesty, we haven't heard Sasha Mutala's name on here in the last few months. Started the draft year off as a late 1st and could go in the 4th or 5th rounds. Would be a solid selection then!!

It looks like Heinola should be 23rd? It's funny, because I specifically scrolled down to find him.

His stats and scouting reports shout 'middle of the first' to me, but he is consistently in the mid 20s instead.

Zegras has all the makings of a guy who usually rises a few spots on draft day. There's a lot of chatter around him

Figures, my fave centers for our draft slot a few months out since 2010 - Johansen, Koktaniemi, Zegras. All big risers.

Come on pro scouts, catch up, catch up, stop making me think these guys will make it to our pick ! ;)

'Part of the business': Devils GM Ray Shero on Taylor Hall, the No. 1 pick and more

ESPN: Was there an advantage in evaluating Jack Hughes, considering your ties to USA Hockey and his having come up through that system?

Shero:
I don't think so. I spent time with Kakko as well. Besides, our scouting staff -- Tom Sinisalo scouts for us in Finland -- I have a lot of contacts in Finland that have known this young man growing up. I know people that played with him. That coached him. The same could be said of Jack Hughes. I don't think there's an particular advantage to [knowing] the American program.

Here
Took off today. Big day planned. Recording the draft but going to follow intently as I dine at a fine restaurant in celebration of my wife and sister in laws birthdays.

Going out in rain to take a 4-6 mile run. The sun will come out later. Smiles all around.
