Pretty fun fantasy exercise. Traded back twice to get Askarov at 9th OA and added a mid 1st-rounder. I found the trade values pretty ridiculous so settled for a couple fewer picks than I was allowed. The toughest choice for me was between Lapierre and Holloway, both available at 18th OA. I went Lapierre and I’d be pretty stoked with this result:

(9) Yaroslav Askarov, G
(18) Hendrix Lapierre, C
(39) Brendan Brisson, C
(45) Ozzy Wiesblatt, RW
(54) Yan Kuznetsov, LD
(62) Wyatt Kaiser, LD
(64) Brett Berard, LW
(83) Emil Heineman, LW
(106) Anton Johannesson, LD
(124) Kasper Puutio, RD
(155) Maxim Beryozkin, LW
(186) Pavel Tyutnev, C

(4) Tim Stutzle, C
(32) Ryan O'Rourke, LD
(45) Ridly Greig, LW
(54) Shakir Mukhamadullin, LD
(62) Theodor Niederbach, C
(64) Drew Commesso, G
(106) Ronan Seeley, LD
(124) Calle Clang, G
(155) Viktor Persson, RD
(186) Devon Levi, G

At 4th overall, went with Stuetzle since he was available and wanted a different look.
End result:
Center. Potential high end center in Stuetzle. Niederbach could be a middle six center if everything broke right.
Left defense: No stunners here. O'Rourke could be a good one, but reminds me a bit of XO. Mukhamadullin has some raw potential but could be a project. Seeley's an undersized two-way guy.
LW-Grieg has middle six ability.
RD-Person has decent potential.
G- 3 goalies drafted. Clang, Commesso and Levi.

Commesso with either 3rd round pick seems like a damn good idea if he's still available.

Detroit Red Wings
(4) Quinton Byfield, C - potential #1 C with Hart level potential
(32) Ryan O'Rourke, LD - Top 4ish type LD potential
(45) Joni Jurmo, LD - Who knows. Has all the tools if you let him develop and be patient, could be great with that frame and that kind of skating
(54) Yan Kuznetsov, LD - Big, defensive D who needs to develop something offensively.
(62) Nico Daws, G - HP gives him pretty good ratings but then rates him a C+. Whatever, I'm willing to burn a late second on him.
(64) Tristen Robins, C - Early third rounder for. Undersized center/winger good in all three zones. Reminds me a bit of Ferraro, reading that report.
(106) Ronan Seeley, LD-great skating, undersized LD with some offensive upside.
(124) Samuel Johannesson, RD-great skating undersized RD with some offensive upside.
(155) Alex Cotton, RD-Outscored Bowen Byram last year at the same age. Has skating issues, but he's worth a shot.
(186) Pavel Gogolev, LW - Another overager. I liked the kid in Detroit's camp a couple years ago. I really don't understand complaints about his skating.
