I just did a draft simulation and I was interested if you guys like to share these.
Link to simulation: draftsim

Here are my picks (no trades made). Thoughts? Went with a more heavily forward focus since I believe our D prospect pool is looking quite decent. We lack forwards and depth.

  • 1st Overall: Lafreniere (LW)
  • 32nd Overall: Peterka (RW)
  • 54th Overall: Hirvonen (C)
  • 58th Overall: Viro (D)
  • 63rd Overall: Colangelo (RW)
  • 65th Overall: Kleven (D)
  • 116th Overall: Ovchennikov (LW)
  • 125th Overall: Cardwell (C)
  • 156th Overall: Knak (RW)
  • 187th Overall: Bednar (G)

Ya saw it on twitter last night and tried one and posted on the other draft thing , i also found myself leaning towards forwards after most d’s i liked were gone

Its much better than the other app , found most if the guys i liked going away much quicker so more realistic

Hirvonen was the finns top c at tournaments right ? I know the leagues more accepting of smaller players but i try and avoid them as much as possible but your draft looks pretty good

Just tried another one ... got uploaded above my reply

What do you guys think of this draft.

Like some of those picks, apart from Benning. I don't think he has a high ceiling, his points are inflated due to the league he plays in and because he plays for the best team in the league. Like the goalie in the 7th round.

Very defense focused draft with a lot of big kids with not that great production (Kleven, Prokop & Faber), interesting take. I personally am shifting away from big kids.

Some good picks , half the picks are d’s im hoping we focus more on forwards this draft and try And go for some star upside

Obviously always take the best player available but since we took alot of ‘s last year maybe something like 6 forwards , 3 d’s , 1 goalie this draft if we stick to the 10 picks?

It'd be kind of cool if we had a button of "Whatever Hakan Andersson says". Especially after perhaps Round 3. And then if Hakan doesn't have any strong feelings for anyone available then "Whatever Kris Draper says".

Tried another haha dont think itll be a popular one cause i did one for fun to add more picks and its alot easier here than real life but decided to build from the back and turn away the #1 pick to land the highly touted #1 franchise goalie

Feel personally outside of the #1 pick i ended up somehow with alot of the players i like

#1 and #65 to ottawa for #4,#18,#50
#4 and #125 to montreal for #8,#39,#143

#8 askarov
#18 peterka

#32 jurmo
#39 torgersson
#50 niederbach
#54 grans
#58 jarventie

#63 ponomaryov
#116 didkovsky
#156 zlodeyev
#163 langenbrunner
#187 tarnstrom

1 goalie - 3 defensemen - 4 centers - 4 wingers

I believe once again SY will let Andersson make all decision on the draft , just like Blash going to make decision on coaches

Stevie has only had one draft and I really don't know if he's weighting Hakan's suggestions disproportionately more than others in their committee of competing ideas where everyone can make their case per pick. Hakan's influence seemingly won over the table for some of the 2019 picks but for all we know, the North American scouts may make better cases in 2020 depending on how the draft unfolds.

(32) William Wallinder, LD
(54) Shakir Mukhamadullin, LD
(58) Theodor Niederbach, C
(63) Alexander Pashin, RW
(65) Emil Heineman, LW
(116) Calle Clang, G
(125) Alex Cotton, RD
(156) Blake Biondi, C
(187) Mason Langenbrunner, RD
#NHLDraft draftsim

I just can't bring myself to take a goalie before 116.
But I'd take this draft all day.
Possible franchise C in Byfield.
Two fairly high ranked LDs in Wallinder and Mukhamadullin
Solid prospect Cs in Niederabch (could be under the radar because of injury and college-bound high school hockey star Biondi
Wingers in Heineman(big goal scorer in Sweden) and Pashin (skilled undersized winger)
A coupled of RD in Cotton (more points than Byram) and Langenbrunner.
And a decent goalie prospect in Clang.

Did Byfield get the coronavirus or something? I thought he was the unanimous choice at #2.

1) Lafreniere
32) Jarvis
54) Jurmo
58) Foudy
63) Simontaival
65) Blomqvist
116) Cotton
125) Fowler
156) Burns
187) Phillips

This would be great. I don’t think Cotton falls that far at all. I’m not sure why he’s ranked so low in this one

When I took Jarvis, bourque and wallinder we’re still there. That was a tough spot. Seeing what’s around in the second, if we pick 4, I would be more than fine trading down to 6-9ish for another second. Dropping and getting Lundell appeals to me. I think he’s so solid and safe and there’s some fairly high octane forwards to be had in the second. Even getting a Holtz or Perfetti with and extra 2 at the least would be very big

Running the lottery simulation made me realize that it's possible, and not super crazy odds, for Ottawa to get the top 2 picks. For some reason that never dawned on me until now. That's kinda wild.

Imagine walking away with guys like Laf and Byfield in one draft.

I don't think we've seen anything like that since the Sedin twins.

So California
Went with O'Rourke with the 2nd round pick. Literally know nothing about him but his bio sold me lol.

"Complete package, two-way defenseman. Natural born leader. Offense not high-end."

how do you pass that up?!?!?
