Does anyone else hate when people talk about Gordie Howe hattricks?

I don't mind it, but hockey loves its traditions. Not that they're all bad or anything, but it's probably what holds it back the most. Just so much old school-cant-change/adapt-mentality in the game.

I think if the you want the NHL to remove fighting then checking should also be removed.

I find it weird how often it's brought up. I'll bet the guy who coined the phrase never thought it would be uttered every other night.

I don't care much for fighting. But when a player has a goal, assist, and a fight? That's a pretty big impact on the game. It's worth mentioning it.

I don't hear about them often enough to be bothered by it.

Fights impact games the same way half time shows impact superbowl outcomes.

I like them. It’s just the name that bugs me, ”Gordie Howe-hatrick” for a ”hatrick” that has been done before him, and he only had 2 himself iirc.
