We have all seen how brutal the refs have been against the Oilers should they call them out and take a fine
The Kings are just a team that knows how to game the system. They get penalties against them a lot (deservedly) but they get the calls that matter. The answer is not to complain. The answer is to figure out how we can game the refs just as well.
Yea for 7 straight years they need to figure them out. I think they have it's called bias and it's blatantly obvious. Heard on 1260 how Hall never gets the benefit of the doubt and every year except his rookie season he gets more penalties then he gets called against him. With someone who carries the puck as much as him this makes 0 sense. The Kings are just a team that knows how to game the system. As much as I'd love to see the oilers publicly rip the refs and as much as they deserve it, I think it would just make things worse. NHL refs have made it very clear this year that they are not the most professional bunch so they'd probably just make even more bad calls out of spite.
But just as a whole … I watch a lot of hockey. And this coach’s challenge … it’s tough. You’re asking the referee to admit he’s wrong in front of 18,000 by watching a 6-inch tablet,†said Hall

Considering he's probably being quite diplomatic in the media and is still kind of saying that the refs can't admit when they're wrong, there is probably some anger behind the scenes over all the bad calls this year.
Has there ever been a season where people do not criticize the officiating?
Every team needs to call out the refs IMO, whether it is behind closed doors or elsewhere. This is a league wide problem, not just an Oiler problem. I watched three games today and all three games featured awful officiating, and in each game they managed to embarrass themselves and impact the game in completely different ways.
