Amazing the tears that are shed over something no one ever states.

Perhaps you simply have reading comprehension issues because Ive seen plenty of Dion Phaneuf being sold as a top tier defenceman. What are the implications of posting Norris trophy voting ballots while comparing to Weber? How about implicating that Weber makes the same mistakes as Phaneuf or that he wouldn't be half the player he is if he played in a tough market like Toronto, like Dion? Guys like Doughty, Chara and Keith are always taken down a notch because they play for better teams implicating that Dion is at a disadvantage because he doesn't play for a contender.

This is a common tactic on these boards. Then comes the denial. Plenty of this nonsense not just around Phaneuf but around any Leaf player, until he changes jerseys. If the Leafs have these great core players like you insinuate and the bottom six has been completely overhauled and have improved, shouldn't they be a force in a weak Eastern Conference? Instead of managing 1 playoff appearance in the last 5 years?
