Nashville is struggling to even fight for a wildcard spot. They have no capspace this season. In fact, they supposedly had to waive Tolvanen because we lacked capspace earlier this season. So by all means, any trade would obviously involve our best prospects not in the nhl and probably our 1st round pick too since we have no capspace and have a 50% chance of missing the playoffs.

Now with tbe sarcasm aside.... unless vancouver wants granlund or johansen, i have zero interest in anything vancouver is selling. Buying high on Horvat just to give him what will likely be a regrettable contract next season when his point production reverts back to the high 50s low 60s is a terrible idea for a struggling team. Granlund for Boeser (tweaks obviously needed) as a change of scenery for both players i could see as beneficial to both teams .

Can Smashville fans answer this question: Why is Tomasino in the AHL after a solid rookie campaign?

Just want to say, Horvat is a OBC's wet dream, center, good size, wins draws, can rip it. they will give up a fortune for him. they would give up a fortune for Horvat's last year model, this souped up Horvat could very much get you a Tomasino that in Poile's eyes cant even make the big club.

most can't, there's no sane reason.

Dhaliwal ( most connected Canuck insider) mentions that Nashiville has shown lots of interest with the Canucks and have initiated communication lately.

However, the more interesting part is Rahcel Doerrie replies to the tweet and mentions " Jack Matier, Ryan Ufko, Zachary L’Heureux and Phil Tomasino are guys I would keep an eye on"

Doerrie of course having inside information as she worked for the Canucks a few months ago before having a falling out.

Shes gotta be providing inside information here about whom the Canucks have always targeted during her time with the time working in the analytics department.

Thoughts?

Ya the Canucks are idiots. Parssinen should be top target.

Its information for sure, Nashville has other prospects like Kemell, Evangelista, Prokop, etc that one would think would have interest from the CAnucks..not to mention roster players like Fabbro

because Hynes has pics of David Poile doing unspeakable acts to livestock

JT Miller for Ryan Johansen deal seems intriguing for both teams.

Both players seem like they need a change of scenery. Miller seems to have the higher floor and higher ceiling, but has longer term on his extension.

Nashville is in the middle of no mans land and with Forsberg and Josi on the books long-term, it doesn't seem like a rebuild is imminent. Miller's extra term likely means nothing to this team as they are probably hoping to be competitive for the next 3-4 years riding off of Forsberg and Josi till they no more gas in the tank.

Johansen can slot in as a 2C to replace Horvat. He's a hometown boy and desperately needs a change of scenery. $8M is overpaid but it's just for another 2 years and he can still produce 50-60 points as a 2C.

Hynes hates defensively irresponsible players though. Miller doesnt really fit

FYI Miller was not a defensive liability last year, he is a great asset when the team wins, but a nightmare when the loses pile up, this year he is plunging his own trade value to that of a penny stock. He is capable of playing a complete game every other year in fact, lets call it the Vaclav Prospal malaise.

But nashville is only marginally better than vancouver. I think weve had 2 - 5 game losing streaks and a 3 game losing streak this season. So its like moving from one circle of hell to another.

JT Miller a change of scenery candidate already? His extension hasn’t even kicked in yet.

They should’ve dealt him when they had the chance. His contract is going to age like milk. No way Nashville rolls the dice on him.

You don’t trade for a guy who just inked a massive extension because you’re hoping he can become defensively responsible again. Vancouver I’d going to rue the day they decided to keep him in town.

Miller would be tied as the leading point getter with Forsberg.

Johansen has 22 points in 43 games while being a -10.

If NSH wants to compete, it's a no brainer swap for Johansen and Miller.

I really don't they they will care about the cap 3-4 years later when Miller's deal is going to downturn. They'll probably have a full rebuild by then anyway.
