You need an on-edge puck to do it.

I really believe that the reason Stafford seems to make 800 back-and-forth movements is not as a deke, but to intentionally corral a puck on-edge for his shot.

I've noticed that Hynes puts Stafford with the new kids, and it seems to work out.

Put him with vets? Not so much.

Definitely dont need it on edge to get it up that close. The puck just cant be too far in front of you, thats when you cant lift it. If you keep it close you can easily roof a puck that isn’t on edge.
