Going to be tough either way. Caps are a good team and not sure what to expect from Dell.

Plus we were due for the effects of the layoff to catch up to us. They went pedal to the metal first two games to cover stuff up, but hit the wall today.

At 5v5 I think Zajac is clearly much better than Zacha. Zajac is much better defensively. Zacha is average at 5v5 defense. Zajac is a better play driver. Same exact 5v5 P/60 last season. Zajac ahead so far this season 1.22 vs .89.
Drop the analytics, they only go so far, if you had to put one of them in the lineup, who do you choose?

Devils Point leaders after 12 games:
Hughes 10 points(3 goals)
Wood 8 points(5 goals)
Smith 8 points(2 goals)
Zacha 7 points(4 goals)
Palmieri 7 points(3 goals)
Kuokkonen 6 points(1 goal)
Severson 6 points(1 goal)

Bratt has 4 assist in 6 games
butcher has 3 points in 3

Isn't that 4 assists in 4 straight games, too?

I disagree with both of you, you can't start benching a player that looks like he's coming around. That said I also don't think it's going to coming to that.

I’m not advocating benching him. I’m advocating moving him to the wing permanently. He looked fine when he was on the wing and not in a position to have to drive play. He isn’t a center at this level.

Of course it isn't. There was no need for the question. The decision should not and will not come down to those 2. Zajac should be the 3C and Zacha belongs on any of top 3 centers wings depending on how things are going. He is not impactful enough to be a center when everyone else is in the lineup

That's what I meant when I said it won't come to that, they'll move him to wing.

You actually think the choice between who is playing and scratched will come down to Zacha or Zajac? That's the only way the question would be a relevant one

Yes. I think Zajac's defensive impact alone is greater than any impact Zacha has.
From what I've seen I think this team is better with Zacha than Zajac, but that's also something I've just recently come around on, beginning of the season I would have not thought that especially when Zacha looked like crap the first couple games, but my gut is telling me that the game is finally slowing down for Zacha and it makes sense being he's 23 and that's when young forwards start hitting their grove.

Zajac is not a wing, Zacha should be encouraged, so the best idea I've heard so far was on Devils Insiders where they said let them both be centers and move McLeod to Zajac's wing. In another year or two when Zajac is gone McLeod can slide back to center.

This is where it hurts not having practices.
