Going to the games in Tampa and Sunrise.

I've had some great times there over these past few years. One year in Sunrise when we blew that 3-1 lead and lost 5-3, my buddy kept going up to buy beer that they sell in a plastic cup.

He bought about 4 from the same vendor, before he asked me to buy one for him because he was afraid they would stop serving him by his fifth.

He's not even a Devils fan, and was annoyed by that game.

Then I brought a girlfriend to the Lightning game we blew a 2 goal lead and lost in the shootout late in the lockout year. She was embarrassed at how pissed I was about the loss and didn't talk to me for the rest of the night.

Good times.

Last year I booed at screamed at Fraser after he cost us the game in TB.

Oh man, I swear we were all thinking we would see you on TV going nuts and being escorted out those games.

He really pisses me off. He's not good at anything. He's an OK skater, that's about it.

Did we see Rico or Blandisi at all? What, were we saving them or something?

Also, they miss Schlemko a lot.

He's (Warsaw) the new Peter Harrold...I thought it was going to be Schlemko but Schlemko has played his way above that. Which is to say passable when playing once in a while but not when playing every game and he gets played every game by this staff.

I usually stay contained, my hatred for Mark Fraser got the best of me last year though.

Hopefully Warsofsky doesn't do it to me this time, but Fraser (except for under Lemaire when he actually looked a little less bad) somehow manages to make Warsofsky look respectable though.

DSP has been hot lately, so I can't really blame them for giving him a shot. Warsofsky on the other hand...

I mean I don't want to rip that either but I did kind of first-guess having DSP on the ice on a 3-on-3 situation. It's not quite as bad as the Ryder/Clowe special from Pete last year but DSP is not going to be good in a open-ice situation especially against that team. Especially he shouldn't be playing above Henrique or Boucher in a 3-on-3. If you are going to put him on put him on in a Larsson/Greene shift at least.

And this is exactly the kind of game where I hate the conservative OT approach, they had NO shot of winning a shootout against the Caps, there was no reason to sit back at all when you need the win badly.

I actually think Harrold was better than Warsofsky.

My problem with Harrold was the overusage and power play time he got too. And him having to play over Larsson and Gelinas (the year that he was good).

Harrold was actually an alright #7 defensemen on most NHL teams.

I don't even think Warsofsky is that. I understand we have no one else to use on the power play in that spot, unless we use Larsson or Greene. But the reliance on him in OT and offensive situations is just gross.

A lot of faith in a guy that hasn't even been on the ice for a goal scored in any games he's played.

Yeah pretty much the only good to come out of a shootout would be a Wedgewood shutout.

He gets the shutout if it goes to the shootout either way.

Most games, I'd be alright with losing in overtime and never ever second guess ''What if we won in the shootout?''. I'm only bummed we lost this in OT because the kid lost a second straight shutout against another offensive powerhouse.

I don't think we would have won the shootout and I didn't care to see it, but it would have been nice for him to get another shutout.

Odds are we weren't getting to a SO with that approach. That is just to much open ice, and to much puck time for the Caps. They were going to sneak one in eventually. They needed to try and beat Holbty first and didn't go for it.

Still its hard to get to down on them tonight when they played a tough game with spare parts in the line up and a rookie on his third career game in net.

Does again go back to if we won a few more of those cream of the crap games we would have actual double digit odds in the playoff race. Not a fleeting hope/prayer.

It's not even a question that Harrold was better than Warsofsky.

Anyway that was a tough loss but they put up a hell of an effort against the top team in the league. Got some puck luck for sure but it was a hard earned point that could have gone their way.

Another strong game from Wedge, wonder if Hynes will still stick with him.

Caps got some puck luck too (or just straight up grabbing Rico's stick when he had a chance on a nice rebound).

He was but you wouldn't know it from the anti-Harrold sentiment here at the time :P People treated him like Warsovsky now.

And on another note does Ward ALWAYS have to have a random fourth-line plug on the PP? What on earth was Pietella doing there, because they didn't have Tootoo they needed another talentless plug to slot in?

Pietela had a solid game. Was one of the few guys helping set up some of our few ES oppourtinites in the 2nd period. I think he was filling in for Kennedy though.

I think MAG might be better than Warsofsky.

I only remember disliking him because we gave him 2 minute Kovalchuk marathon shifts on the power play, despite him doing nothing on it and being one of the opposition's best killers.

It's not like he was good defensively, but he was less bad for sure.

War wasn't that bad tonight though. I get the complaints from some of his other games, but no one had a bad game on D tonight.

Gulitti said that Blandisi was benched for a while, and Pietilla (did any of us get the spelling right on this one? Haha) swapped lines with him.

I thought he might have also said something about him getting his PP spot too.

I'm still infuriated by the amount of times we've gotten shutout 1-0 in the last 3 or 4 years.

Usually it only happens with Cory in there.

I'd rather get shutout by Holtby than Blimpzilla in Tampa or that $4 million of injured mediocrity that NYI rolls out against.

Blimpback
Blimpzilla (though it should really be Blimpship)

Are there any other blimps I don't know about?

Mike Smith is another one.

It's really eye opening to watch the Sharks play the Coyotes, and look at Martin Jones at one end and then look at Mike Smith at the other end. You'd never know these two were the same size, it's like watching Marty and Giguere back in 2003.

I used to think Brian Elliott wore some pretty small equipment, until I got a look at his backside a couple times. My friend is such a jerk. He constantly laughs at his girlfriend's butt, but he's only kidding around. He's very playful about it with her, she's pretty hot too. But we were texting a little earlier and he said ''Elliott has a bigger ass than *his girlfriend's name edited for privacy*''. She's got a pretty smokin body and nice butt, but he constantly playfully gives her a hard time about it. Dude's pants are HUGE. Looks like he took a dump and needs to change them. The pants on guys like Elliott and Ryan Miller (Miller's entire set up) is a joke. Same with Mike Smith and Bishop's oversized XXXXLLLLLLLLXXXXXLLL everything.

Caps I think are one of if not the best defensive team in the league this year and we had a lot of spare parts in the lineup.

I'll forgive this one.

This one definitely doesn't hurt as bad as it could have under other circumstances.

Like if we were still really alive, or if it was a cream of the crap loser team.

That Detroit one is kind of annoying me at the moment, since they're stumbling and holding on for dear life right now. But we did get 4 out of 6 possible points against them this year.

The 1-0 loss the Halak and the Islanders is real garbage. Isles beat writer says Halak is probably done as an Islander. I'd like the know where the hell he's going, no one is trading for him. Aside from Mike Smith, none of the league's goaltenders worse or as mediocre as Halak are signed past this year or next. At least not until Carolina gives Ward a 3 year extension.

I don't want Holtby to break Marty's record, but it's whatever at this point. I'd rather Holtby get the Vezina over Bishop. The ''Bishop is teh best'' posts will never go away if that guy gets the Vezina.

Can we also just beat Toronto in the season finale? I feel like even in these last few non playoff years, we almost always have won the last home game of the season.

With the exception of the embarrassing home finale against the Rangers last year. We won Marty's last game the year before, won the last game at home in the lockout year (forget who it was against), won against Boston in the MacLean/Lemaire year in the home/season finale.

Toronto is so putrid, you can't tell me they're not TRYING to lose games right now. It's embarrassing and disgraceful that Babcock and Lou work for such a product with such little integrity.

Hate seeing a Marty record fall already but it's not as big a deal as basically all the other ones.

I agree with you on not wanting the season to end. I really wish they could pull the miracle because it was nice to be playing meaningful games again this year after a long drought of just garbage.

Next year should be brighter but this was a fun group. Good news I guess is most of the guys we like will still be here and the trash heap won't.

Plus I'm not ready to retire the dancing gif. To much love for it

We'll just need some new faces to go along with that gif next year, just a couple new ones inserted. We've already got DSP on Stempniak.

I've had more fun this season than any since 11-12. Even if I complain about what I'm seeing a lot, it still beats the six months between April-October when there's no Devils hockey being played. And no hockey at all being played between mid June till preseason in late September.

And I would be excited to watch the world cup of hockey, but I'm kind of annoyed that's it's not in late August like it was previous years. Because of it not starting until September, it pushes camp and the start of the season back a week later than normal. If it started in late August, it would give me some kind of hockey to watch while I'm really needing a fix of some hockey to watch.
