We should all stop pretending Jesper Bratt is a good player too

he’s a complimentary player. which is a little disappointing because i saw so much potential his rookie year, but considering where he was drafted i’ll definitely take it. i just think our collective expectations need to be lowered a bit on him

He's still a good player regardless.

Still the F'n STEAL of the 2016 Draft where we struck out(IMO) with whom we drafted at #12 (i forget his name) but ended up with Jesper at 162nd(I believe) of the 6th round.

Go after Palms, Hall, Zajac, etc. This was Jack's first game back after how many games? Give him a at least a couple of games. From what I've read and seen, he was damn great tonight.

He will be damn elite in a couple of years. RELAX.

I want to agree with this. But we have two of the last 3 #1 overalls and it's not clear that we even have an elite player at this point. Perhaps impatience from constantly losing is looming large...but shades of Edmonton have to be in the back of everyone's mind.

Gonna focus on Nico and Jack.

Reality is, Hughes is and will be viewed on a different level than Nico.

Love Nico, but Hughes was always viewed on a different tier than Hischier. Nico has to develop his offensive game more. Outstanding defensively, but his offense has to come around. Hopefully with Hynes out, Nico will bring it more offensively. His points are going up steadily, but I think and hope there's another level that he can bring. He showed a lot more flash in juniors offensively...more of an offensive arsenal than we've seen at the NHL level. Hopefully he adjusts and brings it into the NHL soon. He has it in him.

Not everyone will be McDavid. Jack is projected to be an elite #1 Center...was never projected to be an elite #1 right out of the gate.

Definitely more structured, I agree. I just hope at some point they can figure the offense thing out because the team is anemic. It would help if the D weren't a bunch of braindead grenade handlers. Though I thought Subban was very good in his defensive zone tonight.

I don't think a Blandisi comparison is accurate, Egg.

In fact, I would venture to say it's WAAAY Off-base.
