It is too small of a sample size, so I should have clarified. But based on how he looks so far, a decline is noticeable unless he is injured.

He hasn't looked this bad his entire time here.

He definitely hasn't looked this bad since he's been here, I'll agree there.

I'd like to see some offensive production out of Bennett already, but I'm not ready to scratch him.

He should be given a longer leash than these other guys. We paid more to get him and he has more of a history of producing offense.

Although Boucher does too.

I think their window is closing, just not slammed or shut yet.

I think the Rangers and Kings are close to slammed shut.

You can call it a loser's mentality if you'd like but we aren't a good team. Yet. If we make it to the post-season, it will involve quite a bit of luck.

I don't exactly accept these losses, but it's easier to just focus on the long-term development.

Basically we won't be winning in bunches until Two of Rico, Cammy, and Palms wake up.

Hall is doing everything out there. Zacha is doing just about everything we can ask from him (he is snakebitten right now, but he is generating).

4th line is grinding. We need our other top forwards to get going.

That first sentence is spot on. If by game lets say 15, this crap is still going on with those three and we're losing one goal games game in game out we could be in big trouble. It better not get to that point, it can't. There's too much talent between the three, but this team does find ways to cause me to die a little inside the last few years.

I think people are prematurely pronouncing Chicago dead. With a core of Toews, Kane, Panarin, Keith and Seabrook minor tweaks to a team that good is all that is needed.

All Chicago needs is another one or two guys to come out of nowhere and they're right back where they were.

Honestly, who thought Panarin would come in and immediately be one of the best forwards in hockey? Typical Chicago. They keep pulling rabbits out of the hat. Another homerun on a prospect like Saad and they're golden.

That D-core does need some work though, Keith and Seabrook can't play 60 minutes (although I assume they might try that at some point).

Most of em are probably blue jays fans anyway, but seriously this Hawks team isn't anything special.

They still have much of the same nucleus, but perhaps some of the guys are getting "long in the tooth". I still think they'll be a contender come season's end.

It is a good thing we have some depth at LW coming up in the minors b/c Cammalleri looks like less than half the player he has been. The fact he is declining isn't shocking considering age and the injury history, but the severity of the decline is. He is literally useless out there right now.

It happens to them all, always somewhere in their thirties (Jagr still good, but not like his prime).

I don't think tweaks are possible considering their cap situation. They're still a good team who can beat any team on any night but I think quite a few teams have surpassed them. If we were a western conference team I wouldn't want anything to do with them in the playoffs but I just don't think they're the "mighty Hawks" they were a few seasons ago where they were basically the best or second best team in the league year in and year out.

Watch them win the cup now lol.

Seabrook looks like he isn't all that good, and they actually have to pay Panarin, which will be a challenge. Their depth is awful. Chicago's not dead at all - they'll still probably make the playoffs pretty consistently - but I think their time as an elite team is over without a draft miracle.

I'm being 100% honest Panarin's success didn't surprise me at all. I was praying he would sign with us. I was hoping Kovy might have had a lot of good things to say about our organization and the state of New Jersey. Maybe about how there was a large Russian community and he would feel comfortable. I remember thinking weird **** like that cause I wanted him bad lol. I guess I'd be lying if I expected a 77 point season but I thought a 55-60 point season was more than within his reach. What he was doing in the KHL was just awesome.

Just the fact that every year they have to trade away talent to get under the cap is rediculous. It's worth the cups of course but you can't maintain that success when you're giving up guys like Saad and Terevainen it's just crazy. They did get a good deal for Saad but that Teravainen deal was atrocious. Obviously the organization should regret nothing considering the success, but the way they've done it. I'm basically suprised they were able to be the threat they were every year for as long as they were. Oh and they're still a threat I just don't think anyone's picking them as the favorite to win a cup anymore that's the only difference.

Now that's what you call giving away a win.

Weak arse no effort PP in the 3rd which could have sealed it.

Dumb Fiddler penalty.

Kalinin not shooting on the 2 on 1.
Just an awful loss that should have been a somewhat easy win if they actually beared down in the 3rd.

I'm fed up with Camm at this point too.

I don't blame Kalinin for not shooting, he didn't have a good enough spot to pick.

That said, maybe if he was better at picking a spot, he could have shot and scored.

Why couldn't Hall get off the ice in OT too.

Quincey was brutal on the tying goal as well .

That no show 3rd period PP was the turning point. Weak

I get so tired of having to say that or read it every year. Sit their ***** until they decide to contribute.

He should have just shot it.

But, fiddler can't be waving his stick around either.

They handed Chicago about 3 get out of jail cards in the 3rd.

Can't keep doing that and expect to be a playoff team.

I think, to play Devils Advocate here, Hynes is busy trying to test out combinations that do work and don't.

I think he may have discovered a combo that doesn't work.

So hopefully going forward, he goes back to the combo that DOES work.

That was also a great defensive play by Seabrook I think? That pass goes through and that's game and considering Kalinin's shot he basically would have just shot it into his chest.

But yeah, Quincey blows, dude doesn't know how to do anything without taking a penalty. No technique at all in his game.

He's like the guy running around in NHL 06 with TURBO on all the time and every hit becomes a boarding penalty, except his TURBO isn't fast and he doesn't hit people with the puck and his hits are all weak but still penalties.

Hard to believe that Hall missed that wide open net.

But it still should have been a W tonight.

Deflating loss.
One that can carry over if they don't play smarter right away tomorrow.

Cam not producing and looking like **** is actually not bothering me all that much. He's such an unreliable player that the problem (his poor play), will eventually just work itself out once he gets injured again. It's just a matter of time with him. I honestly don't even consider him an integral part of this roster. His salary and past production may suggest that he is but he simply cant be relied upon. Making matters worse is that he really looks like he may have lost a step. Granted, It's only 7 games after being on the shelf for the majority of the year but he's looked pretty bad thus far.
