Agree with the bolded. That being said - I have no idea how you can defend this coach. How anyone can really.

You can say that this team is devoid of offensive talent (which I disagree with but I digress), but when you look at the stats we are DEAD LAST in the league in shots on goal. It’s not like they are generating scoring chances and just can’t bury. They literally go through 10 or 15 minute stretches where they can’t even enter the opposition’s o-zone. That’s like expansion team ********.

You can claim that the team is “old and slowâ€, yet this coach refuses to play the younger faster players at his disposal, instead choosing to either scratch them from the game entirely or bench them in the third period of every single game. He wants to hold a lead, yet his strategy has shown ZERO evidence of working considering that this team blows more leads than any other in the league.

He is absolutely useless with young players. You can say Henrique was successful under him his rookie year – but that was three years ago and he has not improved a single aspect of his game since then. What about the long list of other young players who have regressed – Larsson, Tedenby, Josefson, Loktionov. These were not players that came in and showed nothing. They all played well at some point for decent stretches of time. Not a single one cracks the lineup now. Gelinas played well for a while and is now struggling – do you trust this coach to get the kid back on track?? I sure as hell don’t.

I have not seen a single shred of evidence that suggests this coach is good at anything other than supplying his team with a system. Beyond that, he is not a good tactician, he doesn’t make adjustments, he doesn’t ice the best possible players, he doesn’t develop/teach our young players to be better.

He is not up to par with the expectation of excellence this organization has built over the years. It’s embarrassing as far as I am concerned.

And this is why he blew up last night, he knows he's about to lose his job because his shortcomings are finally fully coming to light...you can bring up the SCF run...but how many coaches with better playoff records has Lou axed? Doesn't help that we're gonna lose Larsson and gelinas to free agency if this clown keeps benching and scratching them. I don't wanna be that guy but if Larsson was drafted by a team like the preds he would be a solid second pairing guy right now...not wasting away in the A. Fire Deboer, free adam, trade for a decent forward cause we draft forwards like crap and see what happens. I'll take a new coach and missing playoffs over Deboer staying and us getting curb stomped in the first round.

First off, you should probably read other posts I've made (in fact, you don't have to look further than the game thread). I'm pretty consistent in that I don't think this team is good enough and that changes do need to be made if they realistically want to make the playoffs. The post your commenting about is simply in regards to a schmuck beat writer calling out an NHL coach when said beat writer probably can't even put on a pair of skates correctly.

Secondly, don't tell me to go and buy club seats. I can't afford club seats, but even if I could, I wouldn't waste that kind of money on a league that locks out it's players every 7 or so years. I've been following this team for over 2 decades now and have been to more games than I can remember and have spent more on games than I would like to admit. I have over $2k worth of jerseys hanging in my closet. I have a $1k custom made exact replica of Brodeur's mask collecting dust in my living room. Does that make me a big enough fan for you? Does my opinion count now?

It's easy to change my channel? Go and buy club seats? Are you kidding me with that bull ****???? Nice job pissing on probably most of the board as I'm guessing not too many of us have the honor of sitting in club seats.

I empathize with your frustration. The worst aspect is that Lou hasn't even been straight with the fans, in that everything out of his mouth is a status quo cliche. I don't expect a Stanley Cup caliber team but be a straight shooter. ADMIT THAT YOU MADE SOME MISTAKES and focus on correcting them. That's it.
