Only Grinders at the Rock I'm interested in:

Some Brazilian "grinders" in the Goal bar to.

I have to be honest, that looks pretty good, and I've heard a lot of complaining about the food at the Rock so far this year.

Hey man, one day Tallackson will be playing with Elias every night. David Hale will also be our Stevens replacement too!

Then I woke up in 2014, where they both became nothing. Very overrated prospects at one time. I mean very overrated. I used to have nightmares over that Tallackson pick. Now I just laugh.

I saw Hale twice while he as North Dakota and knew his skating was an issue the first time I saw him.

Tallackson however I thought would be a player. I thought he had the size and skill to be a top 6 winger and when he was winning National Championships with Martin and DeMarchi I thought we had some players on the way ...Tallackson was a big disappoint to me.

Hell no, getting rid of our high end kids, a pick and two forwards? Hell no.

Clowe and Zubrus are both washed up. Why keep them if we have a chance to get a better forward? Do you still not believe Zubrus is finished? The last 100 games says he is. What's it gonna take to realize he's done and is no longer useful? Clowe may not be completely finished yet, he's only looked bad for 11 games.

I understand not wanting to get rid of a defenseman, but Zubrus is a relic at this point. Clowe might not be far behind.

Carolina just dumped him on us. They aren't taking him back.

so that they could resign Semin, LOL

Think of it as an "undo" for the Canes.

Throw in one other logjammed forward from our end and we're set. Now imagine they're in love with Clowe, ooeoeoeoe! suddenly we've got the best trade ever considering that means we then have room to sign Gomez.

They signed Semin to an extension about 9 months prior to trading Ruutu.

The Semin discussion is so beat. We didn't want him when we could have had him for free 2 years ago, why would we give up young players for him now? And I don't see us giving up on Clowe, just over a year into the contract. As much as people dislike him now were gonna be stuck with him until he gets Pronger'd. Lou seems to have an affinity for Clowe since he was after him for years before signing him last summer. I can't see him giving up on him just like that.

A straight up trade I would consider but I'm still not a big fan Semin.

My point is they will never do a bad contract for a bad contract trade. It's a complete fantasy to think other wise and I don't think Semin AND his contract (and that's key) are worth giving up actual assets for.

I always thought Vrana could be something solid, like another Sykora but he never seemed to do anything with his opportunities. Too soft for the NHL

Hopefully a team that's dumb enough to use the cremated remains of Cam Ward as their starting goaltender because of his contract, despite having a much better one on their team.

Same team that was dumb enough to trade a first and Brandon Sutter for Jordan Staal, before then signing him to a TEN year extension.

I keep forgetting Rutherfool is gone now.

Funny that he's now with the team he was fleeced by

Only thing about that is we couldn't afford much 'free' back then :P

I'm surprised he got a GM job, and so soon at that.

His 5 playoff berths in 20 years as a GM is certainly impressive.

Semin - Henrique - Jagr
Camm - Zajac - Ryder
Elias - JJ - Havlat
Zubrus/Brunner - Ruutu - Gionta

Thoughts? I went astray from a normal lineup such as:

Semin - Zajac - Jagr
Cammalleri - Elias - Havlat
Brunner - Henrique - Ryder
Zubrus - JJ - Ruutu

Trade being : Clowe, Gelinas, 3rd/2nd

Some of those draft years were just bad for everyone.

1997 wasn't a great crop and 1999 was worse...and the 2001 was another weak one.

You really gotta look at each individual draft...you'll always will find one or two players within reach that would've been a better pick but when the bottom of the first round and the entire 2nd round has nearly no NHL players it's impossible to blame poor drafting.

No because of the trade. It's lopsided towards the Canes.

I rather keep Gely and the picks and with Clowe's contract then give
Up those futures.

Should he be made available (there have been rumblings since the summer about it given Boston's cap situation) I would rather roll the dice on Loui Eriksson than Semin.

Oh my, really? Eriksson has looked pretty awful since leaving Dallas. He would be just another middle 6'er, while Semin can be top line and have Cammy play second. That's a sniping, dynamic top 6. Eriksson is just more of the same.

Really? Id take a sniper in Semin for basically just Gelinas everyday and Sunday.

Have to look past this year before deciding to trade defense.

One maybe two vets will be gone and their roles will need to be filled.

Gely (and Lars when he was in trade rumors) have the potential to be studs. Needs to be something more then Semin to pry them out of here.

God help this place if we got Eriksson, the screaming about how Lou's myopic and we have a million players like him already would be louder than the Devils' goal song music the first two games.

If they went for that trade, i'd probably line up as:

Cammalleri - Zajac - Semin
Elias - Henrique - Jagr
Havlat - Josefson - Ryder
Ruutu - Gionta - Zubrus
Scratches: Brunner, Tootoo
