I am just about to leave to drive to Calgary

My and my brother are sitting 4 seats over from the Devils tunnel to dressing room .
Somewhat close to the Devils bench

That was actually at a Flames game . I have to continue my tradition and do it again tonight ! It’s the National game ! I have to ! I’m close enough to the glass where I think I can make it that far before security grabs me .

It depends on what cable packages you have and or what region you live in for what the Hockey Night In Canada late game is .

This is the first season in awhile where I am nervous (excited ) before a game. Before it was mkre “Please don’t get blown out and look bad , just try hard please “
or “As long as Bratt Hughes Mercer Nico get points and improve their game , that’s what matters , not wins or loses “

Lines are back to “normal “ for them. The Kadri line has been very good but the Lindholm line has been crap.
No Tanev is huge. We are going to decimate them with shots.
Markstrom has been shaky all year so I am confident we can light him up. That or he will finally piece together his first excellent game and stop 50 shots.

I think we can expose their left side D. Hanifin is solid but Zadorov and Mackie on their 2nd and 3rd pair can hopefully be exploited.

Markstrom seemingly has two settings: Godmode and the complete opposite of that. He doesn’t do mediocre much. So hopefully it’s the latter.

Watch out for elite defenseman Michael Stone lol.

Stone has 5 points, with 2 G, in 9 GP. That makes him their second highest scoring defenseman after Weegar (9 GP 0G 7A).

That’s despite being 6th on defense in ATOI and EV Ice Time. He has 1 PP Assist but isn’t listed on either unit now (I mean, that makes sense despite the scoring lol).

The dude weirdly scored a bunch last season in his short season in Calgary too. He had 6 points (2G) in 11 GP.

Stone had 5 points (2G 3A) in 9 playoff games too, which made him their highest scoring defenseman and put him in a 4 way tie for 7th highest scorer.

(We also learned in that series that Brady Tkachuk
is a much more fun younger brother than Mark Stone.)

What I’m saying is prepare for a 45 point Michael Stone season. (Actually I’m not saying that at all, but it would be hilarious odd if it happened.)

Was that the game where four Devils were in a five foot radius “swarming” the puck against the boards and a Flame was wide open for ten minutes watching TV on a chaise lounges in the slot before the puck inevitably got sent to him and he had to put down the tv remote and his pint of Hagen Dazs (mint chip of I recall) and finish his text before putting his gloves back ion and pushing the chaise lounge and tv out of the way so he could play the puck and score against the goalie who was curled up in a corner of the net in the fetal position sucking his thumb and muttering over and over to himself “the swarm makes a lot of sense I just don’t get it which is a me problem”?

Not every game has been a weird, demoralizing beat down but a lot have been that. Time to turn that around too.

I went to my first live game in 3 years last year. We didn’t play down here at all in 19-20, as the covid pause was like 4
days before we were to play in Tampa and that was our only Florida trip that year. We didn’t play down here or the Florida teams at all the next season because of the different divisions and I went to the one game in Sunrise and both in Tampa.

For some weird reason we play once in Tampa this year and twice in Sunrise. We used to play each team either twice in Florida and once at home or vice versa. Kind of weird, but I’m excited for the first one in Sunrise a few days before Christmas.
