This thread needs an injection of Robitussin-tasting honestly:

Pavel Zacha was robbed once last night.

The other 389 times were more a matter of him either not finishing or missing opportunities.

Being robbed once and also having this many opportunities is not a usual event. No one 'finishes' on all of their breakaways and great opportunities - to have so many in a game and not to score on any is also unusual.

I love MoJo and felt he got a bad rap last year. I think he’s an extremely valuable piece moving forward. I can’t imagine we don’t resign him. Even if it’s a shade over 5, you have a locked in top-six forward. I mean he brings that second line together and allows Wood to be a 3rd liner. That’s crazy depth.

His ability to move the puck into the offensive zone is excellent. I was happy for him he scored last night too.

The entire fourth line scored goals. I’d suggest that’s not going to happen too often. That said I think Nico and Hall have not played great yet. Not badly just not great. Hopefully this is the real deal for Mueller and he can develop his game over the course of the season. His development might be more critical than PZ because of the construction of the defense.
No you won't get 3 goals from the 4th line very often, but I can see the comparison to last year, where we got very nice offensive contribution from that 4th line,

I was wondering where the board would sit on Zacha's performance last night. On the one hand he was again scoreless, but on the other, he was very impressive both in controlling play and creating chances.

Glad to see the consensus is positive.

He flat out dominated. Looked like a power forward at times with a 2C skillset. The points and goals with come if he can consistently bring that type of game.

I thought we got more than average offensive contribution for the 4th line last year. It was the several years before that where we rarely got offensive production from even a 3rd line, let alone the 4th line. The days of Jacob Josefson playing 3rd line and averaging under 20 points per 82 games. Or Sergey Kalinin and his whopping 15 points in 78 games playing power play and with Zajac and Palmieri and his goon-like production when he wasn’t playing with them.

the fact that 2/3 of the videos/interviews the devils put up had questions about zacha just goes to show what the team thought about him

Yeah, part of it is just the process and doing the right things to get those opportunities. Zacha did pretty much everything right last night and was dominant. The points will come for sure if he keeps playing like that. And if the team didn't win 6-0 I'm sure more attention would be drawn to those misses. But thankfully they did and Zacha can just shake it off knowing he had a very strong game.

His two best chances were a little unlucky. The puck started to bounce at the last second of his breakaway and Copley just fell backwards and luckily got a piece of his backhand. He had other good looks where he just straight up missed the mark but those two were tough breaks.

thought we played extremely well as a team last night. reminded me a bit of Vegas from last year, their downfall was not enough star power, I think we have that if nico can raise his game. I feel like he leaves a lot of plays on the table because he is pretty loose with the puck. He is only 19 so I understand he is not a finished product, but most everything else in his game is mature.

If we can get nico near Hall's level I could see us win it all in the near future.

If I could ask Brian MacLellan one question and one question only, it would be ''Why did you bring back Brooks Orpik for?''. Guy is 38 and is terribly washed up. He's always been a bad defenseman, contrary to popular belief. There was probably a time where he would have been a decent #5-#6 defenseman, but that's about it.

Wow that changed a lot in post production. The early version I saw was Dano wearing a bad toupee and skinny jeans yelling “oh yeah! Oh yeah!” Over and over again while hosing Cangi down with organic unfiltered honey and then opening a door to reveal a room full of unleashed golden retrievers that haven’t eaten in twenty minutes. The screen faded to black just as the screaming started.
