waiving him will prove to be a blunder by garth for sure. esp if it's to see if barzal is ready (which i don't think he is). the only player who impressed me from the isles side was ho-sang. beauvillier to a lesser extent, though they're high on him

We definitely needed a 5v5 producer, love the company he's keeping on that list that was posted. I'll bet the analytics team nudged Shero in PA's direction as opposed to Pulk. PA has had some nice possession numbers, especially last year.

That's good to hear.

Another feather in his 5 on 5 cap. Between he and Hall those guys really look to help in those areas.

If we can boost our es scoring while maintaining a strong PP that would be big.

Barzal was a mid rnd 1st round pick, who was at one point thought to be a top 10 pick, but fell a bit in the draft, in part no doubt due to injury, who then went on to have an excellent post draft season, and then had what sounds like an excellent camp.

He is very much similar to Zacha in terms of being in the "what is he gaining in Juniors?" camp.

If I'm Isles, and I have to choose between the above, or a 33 yr old PA Parenteau, the choice is pretty easy.

Yeah, if I'm Snow over at NYb I keep the highly skilled Barzal up with the big club.
He looks like a vet already with his poise with the puck.

It worked out for us though, making PAP available.

Wouldn't it be great if we traded him to the Islanders at the deadline for a 2nd round pick
