I still think he is going to want his own guy...I maybe off but I think a new GM is going g to want his staff in place

I tend to agree with this but I think they may have something with Nas. It’s not out of the question that he’s legitimately a good coach that just needed the opportunity to show his stuff. If the team continues trending upward, it will make things interesting.

Looked like his shootout move that's never worked after the first time.

That's a negative.

There was no actual deke as Bratt was trying to reach around with the stick and poke it behind the Goaltender.

Bratt would be better off shooting the puck.

Nice thought, though.

It would be kind of hilarious if Fitz ended up as GM and Nas as coach given how much some people hate both of their predecessors.

I was at the arena and the building went bananas on that goal. It was absolutely gorgeous. I can't remember ever being so infuriated at a call. Absolute garbage. This league is an absolute embarrassment.

Yep, that goal looked so smooth live too. Arena was vocal tonight, both positively towards team and negatively at refs.

Fans are so much happier than during that Hynes stint for early season. It's like night and day...

I don't care who is in the seat...as long as they win...I didn't hate Shero or Hynes...I hated watching the Devil's lose year in and year out. And they were responsible for that losing. It's not much more complicated than that

So they beat WAS and TB back to back without MBW. I see that as pretty significant. If Domingue can give the team passable if streaky goaltending behind MBW and they continue to play with some passion the second half could be pretty good.
Just think how much different the conversation would be here tonight if the Shero news had not come out today.

The funniest thing today for me was finding out Shero was fired only until i sat in my seat 10 min before puck drop.

I spent the day away from phone and internet, and finally got spare mins to read about Shero....

I did get a lockeroom / player area tour today during most of 2nd period. Very cool experience, awesome. Palms was chilling in inner player lounge watching game from Msg feed.. He didnt give us much notice, but we barely stuck our heads in before whisked to next room.

Only downside was missing 2nd period almost fully.....

Fun night. I was probably more thrilled than my kid.

One thing I like about Domingue is his puck-handling ability.

How he handled the puck is night-and-day from the usual grenade-handling we have with our other Goaltenders (Mac included...sorry).

Haven't seen stuff like that since Marty played.

His only (and big) issue is rebound-control.

More often than not, the puck isn't swallowed up by him but it instead bounces off of him and out....and it leaves it to chance that it might end up back on the stick of an attacking opponent's stick.

Aside from that, if he continues playing well, I wouldn't be averse to keeping him as Mac's backup.

The weird things is, that pretty much means Shero's fate was sealed 14 games ago. Just 30 games into the season.

Or that it doesn't even have as much to do with results as it does with philosophy of what to do going forward.

Another theory is like someone said in the Shero thread, maybe the owners made him fire Hynes...if that's the case and the team did this much better with a move Shero didn't want to make?

That's interesting and it's something I hadn't considered. To me, that's the one thing you can really hang around his neck - staying with Hynes too long. Every other move he made was welcomed, you can't criticize it later when it doesn't work out.

Yeah was thinking that similarly. They could have basically twisted his arm enough that the firing was their decision. To be honest, it certainty looks like its that way, based on how long Shero took to fire Hynes, and given the immediate message Shero said after that, alluding to players being the problem and less so, Hynes.

Ie. Shero was still defending Hynes vs. Players. Maybe ownership didnt feel that vibe from the lower organization depths. (Players, coaches, assist gm)

You don’t fire your GM mid season because he fired the coach a week too late.

If ownership itself had to fire Hynes and Shero didn’t want to, I could see it, but then Shero most likely would have resigned that same day
