I'm pretty sure this wan't just a disagreement over one or two issues. Most likely as the organization has started to plan for the future they've had discussions about which direction to go and it eventually became obvious Shero's vision didn't match ownership's. The timing is strange, but if you've come to decision a change needs to be made, you might as well make it as soon as possible so everybody can move on.

I gotta admit, I totally thought Wood was offside on that one goal. Like blatantly offsides.
If you're talking about the play where he back skated into the zone:
Rule 83 – Off-side 83.1 Off-side

Players of the attacking team must not precede the puck into the attacking zone. The position of the player’s skates and not that of his stick shall be the determining factor in all instances in deciding an off-side. A player is off-side when both skates are completely over the leading edge of the blue line involved in the play. A player is on-side when either of his skates are in contact with, or on his own side of the line, at the instant the puck completely crosses the leading edge of the blue line regardless of the position of his stick. However, a player actually controlling the puck who shall cross the line ahead of the puck shall not be considered “off-side,” provided he had possession and control of the puck prior to his skates crossing the blue line

This all sucks because the team is legitimately playing better.

Yeah I can’t even enjoy this weekend with all the chaos going on. I’m still glad I didn’t go last night cause I would have paid zero attention to the game anyway. I had the thing on TV which I wasn’t even going to, and still paid zero attention and not cause of our spot in the standings in this case.

I can. Beat the two best team in the East by a combined score of 9-2. Did that while missing two top 6 forwards and the starting goalie. I'd say that merits enjoyment.

Glad the team won and it was a fun game but Tampa missed the net on a bunch of good chances so I think the Devils should take this result and run.

Devils were the better team on the ice Saturday but I don’t think they were Sunday.

In meaningless games when the future of the franchise is so uncertain?

Yes you play to win the game.. the season is not over.. you enjoy the ride.. if the ride gets good and by march there is even a small glimmer of hope that a playoff push is possible then you just enjoy. it.. root for the team to win the game.. these games are not meaningless.. if they win 5 in. a row things start to look different.. long shot yes..but they are playing well and against good teams

This is true. But this was still a huge improvement compared to how they normally play against the lightning so that was good to see at least.

the future of team is not uncertain.. they have their young core established Nico is signed for 7 years... its actually a fun time to be a fan.. coaches and GMS get fired all the time its not a big deal.

We have an acting GM, an acting coach and have no idea what’s coming next.

I agree. When I got up yesterday morning I was positive about the Devils future because IMO they will be one of the strongest teams at center when Nico and Hughes hit their prime producing years. That remains the same this morning so I remain positive. The results of recent games confirms my view that a new coach was needed and that an inconsistent left wing had to be traded. The next 5 years look good to me. I am not sure why posters focus on the past so much.

Sergachev crosschecking Coleman while lying on top of him at the end of the game. No call. I don't know if I've ever hated another team more.

This is why I constantly refer to them as the Tampa Bay Cheapshot-Artists.

'Cause they are.

You have to wonder if Cooper is the one instilling this bush-league crap to his players?

Anyone still pissed at the No-Goal call (Goaltender Interference) that cost Goose a goal?

That's absolute horsesh-t to me.

Yes, there was a slight love tap by Coleman on the goalie but he did his best to avoid contact and he was outside of the crease and the goalie was at the top of the crease. There's bound to be some slight contact when a player crashes the net. As long as it doesn't impede the goalie from making the save, which Coleman didn't do, it shouldn't be waived off as goalie interference.

That lightning player is 100% reason the goalie couldn't get across to the other side. Gusev literally didn't even shoot yet while Coleman was nowhere near the goalie. Was absolute b.s call.

The only thing I can possibly think of is the slight contact by Coleman caused the goalie to lose his balance or some b.s like that. I can see it being interpreted like that the way the goalie flopped around lol.

Edit: Yea, I'm this pissed about it that I went back to do this.
