A bit high/long for Butcher don't you think?

And I'm as big of a Butcher fan as the next person

he had a slightly down year, but he’s only one season removed from 44 points. 6 years is a little long for my liking, but the AVG looks good to me

I'm shocked that "experts" think that Carolina will be that good. I see them more in the 85+ point range.

It's always a fun exercise to write down which bets you'd make if money weren't an object. One I regret not making was the under on Anaheim last year. Not sure if it's proximity, but Vegas casinos always seems to have high odds on the Ducks/Kings possibly since fans are always optimistic. I remember being in Vegas that one year when Jonathan Quick had that bad injury on opening night. I was in Vegas a few days after and my buddy wanted me to put money down thinking the Kings odds would get worse. But instead they went from 18-1 to 12-1 which made no sense, until I realized the Kings had just been in town for a preseason game so Vegas figured there'd be a bunch of (drunk) Kings fans ready to put down money no matter the odds.

Couple posters on here look kinda silly constantly raving about taxes meaning Clarkson wouldn't come here or any other high tax team.

As was pointed out weeks ago on various sites (and even the mainboard), insurance payouts aren't necessarily taxed in the state/province a player is aligned to (in fact, they usually aren't). This wasn't as cut and dry as Clarkson getting taxed on 41 games based on where his future team was located.

That's why ya should do research before constantly attacking posters on a viewpoint. I wasn't involved in the conversations...just an observer.

Was Clarkson able to refuse a trade back to the Leafs? I was actually wondering if that was the one high-tax team that he couldn't control. I suspect you're right though and that the tax thing was a non-issue all along.

This page being down annoyed me more than I would've ever though its absence would.

Was starting to get concerned it was never coming back. And Reddit is just nowhere near as good - both from a Devils board and general NHL board perspective IMO. I don’t understand how poster leave here for there.

This sites servers are shit! When will they ever learn lol

That being said, as a frequent redditor, HF is way better and most people here are more knowledgeable about hockey

Absolutely. There is seems like more people are fans of a team more than they are the sport. Here I find more people are a fan of the sport just as much if not more than they are of the team. It makes for much more interesting and fun conversations if you actually appreciate hockey outside of your favorite team.

Devils Reddit is annoying if you disagree they just downvote you to oblivion and no one sees your post.

I've never gotten into reddit for hockey. The only time I ever use it is when looking for streams for football or fighting.

Clarkson had a 14 team no-trade list that he finalized in June of this year. Apparently Toronto was not on that list.

And yeah, weirdly he went to a high-tax city. I think it's possible that he loaded up his list with teams his agent and him thought would be capped out.
