I never realized the Kings fanbase has so many trolls until these playoffs
Constant watering and fertilizer can make any lawn grow occasionally. ;)

Throw in lots of cow manure and you gots Calgary.

Usually the Kings fanbase, or a lot of it, are busy trolling their own club these past half dozen seasons. Its never easy to grow from champion to non contender and when a team snaps back into playoffs its a lot to absorb. Theres a lot of reasonable posters over there than can at least appreciate hockey with some impartiality.

Similarly a lot of the Oilers fans going to Staples saying they been treated good. One lady threw her hat out for the Kane hat trick and got it back. Her and her husband went on about how friendly the banter was in LA. I think the good people there go to hockey games. Maybe Hollywood, no so much...heh

Oilers could easily do the same with Holloway, but Ken Holland's too busy fawning over the next garbage veteran to trade for.

In before BUt hE'S NoT REaDY.

So who do you start tomorrow? Smith let in three really bad goals last night. He must be tired. Relentless LA shots and pressure do add up. Smith is the oldest guy in the league at this point isn't he? He blew his load, let Koskinen or Skinner (lol) lead us to the promise land. I'm done with Smith.

Safe to say when Josh Archibald is your second best forward on the ice, you aren't going to end up winning games. McDavid played the best game of his career for my money. Forget highlight plays, the guy was dominant in every part of the game last night. Defensively he's like Danault, and offensively he's like himself. He put on a masterclass on how to be the most dominant player on earth last night. Hope that didn't go underappreciated (I only read the most recent ten pages of this thread). Truly put the team on his back tonight and it wasn't enough.

Has anything changed in the last three years? being outworked and outgrinded. Trying to play a skill game in the playoffs doesn't work out well for anyone. The funny part is we saw what happens when this team goes out guns blazing and running guys, crashing the net, and whipping pucks from everywhere -- the win 6-0 and 8-2. Physically dominating the opposition.

So what changed? Why did they get away from what was working so well? How do you fix it? Pretty simple.

Work harder.

nurse suspended, backs against the wall, this team needs controversy and adversity.

the craziest part is games 2 and 3 they were grinding to create their opportunity, way better team when they work hard grinding to create their chances.

To win in the playoffs you have to get players to “raise their game”. As a loyal fan I can’t name one. Unless you consider a headbutt or a crosscheck to the back raising your game

You gotta go with Koskinen IMHO, but won't be surprised if Smith starts again. Although he has a respectable 930sv so far, his 2 wins were by blow outs, big deal, how about winning the ONE goal games for once, and literally blowing game 1 because of his stupidity

Don’t buy this Woody criticism. He’s getting more heat from some posters for a couple of weird choices the last two games (do the Oilers still start like shit in OT with a different d pairing? Could be) when Tippett was awful almost the entire playoffs both seasons. This game was winnable if the team actually showed up at the puck drop.

It‘s on the players, and Holland. The D Corp needs some work, but the Nurse albatross will make that difficult (self inflicted wound)

Nurse - X
X - Bouchard
X - Ceci

Needs to be the template for next season. Swap Bouchard and Ceci if needed.

They also need to find a Smith replacement

If the GM upgraded on goaltending like he should’ve two seasons ago who knows where we are.

List of issues with this team as it pertains to roster from greatest to least concern

D Corps (top 4)
Bottom 6 forwards
Goaltending (today)

Goaltending has to be attended to in the offseason because it is not likely that Smith will be as good as he was to end the season and in the playoffs

Hopefully under new management, offseason to do list is Barrie out for a top 4D, Kassian and / or Foegele out for cap and find cheaper alternatives, and get a new starter.

Sounds easy enough :sarcasm:

IMO no further. Until this team learns to protect their end as a group of six even Domonic Hasek couldn’t help us. They must learn to break the opponents cycle and breakout together. We don’t need to score more we need to defend as a TEAM( including 97 and 29)

It's funny because people say that no player can win on their own when it's an elite forward or defenseman on a weak team, but the same isn't allowed for a goaltender. Smith has held the team in the games before they even showed up to play the last two games.

He. is. not. the. problem,

He’s also not the solution. Flames we’re all too happy to see him leave.

Watch Keith blow the pass out of our zone while McDavid heading out with his back turned. In overtime we couldn’t even get possession before Our stars were exhausted. Not a winning formula

People are blaming Smith for the 4th goal but when you watch the replay it was tipped by Keith. Keith played a big part in all 3 of our losses.

Flames fans are morons, who cares what they say?

He was their MVP when those losers choked to the Avs
I’m not saying fans, I’m saying the players were happy to see him leave. The Flames also suffered some really poor starts in that series with the “battler”.

Shortly after Woody arrived we started playing in 5 man units effectively and goaltending looked better. That strategy has been abandoned and if we don’t reset we’re done
