Well watching Draymond and Cousins yell at each other should be more fun than next years finals. Probably more competitive too.

Lakers are better off keeping their young talent and just signing Kawhi as a free agent next year. No point in using assets to trade for him now, even with Kawhi they're still a very long shot to win anything now.

Good for Warriors

LOL at Lebron fans upset about this

Lebron started this nonsense super team nonsense with Wade/Bosh

Not a LeBron fan but he's the reason why the Heat even became a super team. They don't win anything without him. KD joined the Warriors right after they won 73 games, they were already a super team and it made the league that much more unbalanced... That's the difference. and now one of the leagues best centers signs with them

This isn't anywhere near close as bad to what Lebron did

GS wasn`t a super team before Durant they were just the best team who changed the way the game was played. Curry and to a lesser extent clay are the superstars. Clay was a good 3 man in, and they had a deep bench and coached superbly. Durant change everything.

The only appropriate reaction to this;

In boogie's case it makes total sense; coming off a nasty injury, you go to a team that fits your skillset very well in an attempt to break the bank next year and then potentially get a title out of it? Smooth move by him.

Now the Warriors have a potential bonafide All-NBA level player at every starting spot, along with two solid bench players in Livingston and Igoudala. If Cousins returns to form that is by far the most talented team in NBA history. Even the 2000's Lakers and Bulls had small holes.

LMAO this league is becoming more of a joke every year.

Warriors will finish 74-8 and go a perfect 16 and 0 in the playoffs. Only LeBron staying in Cleveland and guaranteeing a 5th straight Cavs vs Warriors finals makes it more of a laughingstock.

We're still in the grace period right? The Lakers could theoretically back out of all their contracts and give Boogie an offer

They went 73-9 without Kevin Durant. Don't be a fool.
That didn't make them a super team. On no team is Green a 25 pts 10 rebound player. Clay perhaps. Their big three where not that much different that the Bulls in the 90's. Jordan the best in the league, Pippen top ten, and Rodman one of the best defenders/rebounders. Having Kukoc off the bench was a bonus. Luc Longly and Ron Harper played their roles. The warriors deserve the credit for winning that first championship with their core starters that they drafted. They were the best team. Miami was a collection of three players who were the best on there own teams and chose to come together.

tbf they weren't a super team in the sense that stars didn't go out of their way to piggyback on (yet).
At the time, their biggest UFA signing was Iggy. Is a team a super team if all the major players were drafted by said team?

Not sure what the first super team in the NBA would be considered. Miami? Boston? Some of those Lakers teams (esp the lawlsy time when both Payton & Malone joined)?

Amazed that people still watch the NBA. Oh well at least a new team will win the East this year. There's that I guess.

Thankfully the one time a super team was attempted in the NHL (when Kariya and Selanne tried to piggyback the Avs) it was a miserable failure and then the lockout happened.

Lol, why not?

Lebron gave up on winning by joining a shit Lakers team, so the Warriors were pretty much guaranteed to threepeat anyway

Plus Cousins will be too expensive for them to re-sign next summer, this is just insurance against the kind of choke job they nearly pulled against the Rockets

This is going to be an exciting year. Will the Warriors beat the Celtics in four games or possibly five games to win another championship?!? What drama!

I don't think I've ever posted in the NBA forum before. But I feel compelled to say that this is just beyond nonsense at this point. Supposedly Adam Silver was not happy about the Durant signing two years ago...now here we go again (yeah I know Cousins isn't Durant, but still). What next, are they going to trade for Kawai to strengthen the bench? Good heavens.

Seems like people aren't getting all the details.

First of all, Boogie had ZERO offers. Not even New Orleans. The only team that showed interest is Golden State.

Second of all, he's still injured, which means he won't be ready until january or february.

No other team wanted to sign him if he won't be ready by Game 1.

The thing is, GSW is too damn good that they can afford to have an injured guy on their roster. They didn't even think it was possible to get him. Basically just told him today that they could only offer him MLE, take it or leave it.

Can't really blame him for accepting it. He gets to rehab there, be around a winning culture and get a ring too at the end of the season.
