GBU Deja Vu All Over Again, Loss at NYI 3-2 10/14/23

The Good -

Greenway dogged on the puck again, involved again, great stick on the PK again. Just like game 1 but now with a goal.
Gus on nullifying the icing on pure hustle with Mayfield draped all over him.
Beginning to work in the 2nd.
Benson's first points, well earned.

The Bad -

Puck luck - this time Clifton's foot.
Vic killing shin pads.
Power was not.
A couple more posts.
Rough night 2 for Cozens.

The Ugly -

Amazing what is and is not a penalty in the NHL yet again.
This league... that review was horseshit.
The officiating was NHL bog standard and I'm so sick of it.

I don't get how the Islanders got the benefit of the doubt by skating backwards with no control of the puck over the line before the puck and not get called for offsides.

There wasn't a single point of control, he never touched the puck. They based control on intention.

You don’t have a single complaint that the Islanders apparently played a perfectly clean game for the first 55 minutes of the game? When their strategy is based on borderline interference and holding to slow things down?

ITS ONLY GAME 2. When a lot of the top guys didn't play much preseason its going to take a bit to get into game shape. I thought they played well. Officiating was awful

Played a good 2 periods after a terrible first 4 of the season.
Greenway is good.
Benson won't be sent back down.
I've liked Johnson and Clifton's play so far.
Krebs is the type of player I want on this team. He is not trade bait.
Tage is starting to look dangerous...

His linemates continue to look rusty.
Cozens is having a bad time.
Islanders are turning into a hated team for me, personally
Okposo is looking like he's pushing on E. Don't see him playing at a high level, especially for 82 games.
Powers inability to play with a modicum of physicality is hampering his effectiveness on the ice. Add in a few turnovers and it's very easy to over look the good in his play.

The officiating is awful, making the product nigh unwatchable.
Tired of our young team getting f***ed because we haven't "earned" the calls yet.
Disgusting how the game is called.
The moral victories are long past. Find a way to win.
