With that being said Virtanen hasn’t looked exceptional lately in a scoring role, so perhaps Green is looking to motivate him.

I personally want to see Pettersson and Toffoli together more than a Pearson / Toffoli reunion. If it works well, Boeser could go back to playing with Horvat.

Virtanen has been best on the third line with Gaudette and Roussel, so no problem there. Eriksson should be in the AHL. Bring up Baertschi or, Goldobin, or even give Lind a cup of coffee.

What exactly was the point in paying up for Sutter and Beagle if Horvat gets used as a shutdown center and weighed down with the corpse of LE on his line?

If the 4th line is getting babied at 5v5 anyway then why not just go with cheap Motte-type players to fill it out and save money to spend on beefing up the top 9 and defense?

There was no point. Which was one of the points many have made the past couple years....

Beagle can't be used as a shutdown guy and never really could be. Sutter's game has degraded a huge amount and can no longer be used in that role.

Lol. Just lol. Eriksson needs to be sent down and Baertschi called up, Baertschi showed solid chemistry with Horvat (and Gaudette) prior to the unfortunate concussions. Eriksson has been a disaster since day one and the fact he's beside Horvat is utterly astonishing. Green just being Green

What a weird critique.
The 70's line hasn't been a thing for while - dating back to while they were on the same roster.. and meanwhile we need a RW for the top line here.

I'm pretty sure they'll get their opportunity together... probably as soon as after the next PK.

Additionally... Gaudette best worked with Virtanen... and with Roussel picking up his play a bit here... seems to make the most sense to reunite that trio to help get things going while continuing to shift Virtanen up with Horvat here and there when needed..

That's in 14 minutes/game of icetime over those 20 games, as well. It isn't like he isn't producing in 6 minutes/game.
