I remember when Coburn came over I believe he was hurt or got hurt right away. We didn't really see much of him to be impressed but then he scored the game winning goal in game 7 vs Detroit and all was forgiven. So I'm not judging Savard just yet as he can still come up with a big goal or defensive play that wins us a series.

Looked a bit better with his minutes reduced. But tbh Luke f***ing Schenn is outplaying him right now.

Played only 11:14 today. This is a player that has averaged over 20 minutes a game over his 10 seasons with Columbus.
Coop played around with the ice times of the #5, 6 and 7 dmen and upped Rutta and Schenn's from game 2 to game 4

Something to note, Savard is a combined -4 in the 2 games this series where we used 6 dmen and a +3 in the 2 games we used 7.

Reducing his time is the smart move.
He is too slow for our pace of play.

Florida and potentially Carolina are like the worst possible teams to have Savard on the ice against.
Savard had a really good game tonight.
It's nothing to write home about but after getting a lot of well deserved flak I think his good play deserves to be noted somewhere.

I've rarely seen a vet taking so long to play to his strength with his new team... That series was designed to his style and He was literally being shy. Today was different tho, Savard was finally, not only noticeable, but also in a good way.

Made a great stop 2 on 1 and used his physicality. More of that, less of what we've been seeing..
The past two games he's been noticeable in a good way. Let's hope that's a trend.

Savard has been a lot better his last 3 games or so. I think we are now going to see what he is. A solid depth shut down defensemen. Hopefully he stays healthy for the stretch run.

So now he's only been bad for approximately 96% of games he's played for us. I mean it's better than 100%.

It’s called a grace period or learning the system
Everyone on here is bitching/complaining that it was a bad acquisition. It’s time to give Savard some respect and realize it was a good move.
Coleman and goodrow got eaten alive their first 10 games on this board and we wouldn’t have a Stanley Cup without them.
He was pretty good in the hurricanes series also, it just takes people a while to change their minds around here.
Maybe it’s time to admit that he’s a player

Realize it was a good move? Savard has played a lot more than 10 games for us, and I can count on one hand how many good games he’s had for us. He was brought in to be the number 3 or 4, and he hasn’t performed consistently enough.
