We all know MB likes to overplay his signings even when it's obvious to everyone else it was a fail. *Cough* Staal, Gus *Cough* Merrill.

Whomever he signs, will see 18-20 mins+ per night.

Savard is fine as long as he's not overpaid. Not an exciting player but solid and experienced. Great option to play with Romanov, when he's inevitably used in the top 4 it will not be great.

Wideman is probably not an NHL player anymore but fine as a depth gamble.

Pacquette is a downgraded Danault who is hopefully a lot cheaper.

So far we are a worse team than we were a year ago, and we wouldn't have made the playoffs in a normal season.

It think the plan is for KK to replace Danault points and Evans to put up KK's numbers hopefully 25-30 points and Paquette to replace Evans production and Danaults Defense duties

If Paquette is not a lot cheaper than Phil Danault after he shutdown some of the top lines in the league on a team that made it to the finals, I don't know what to tell you.

Hell, if he's more than half what Danault makes, it gets expensive.

Paquette isn't replacing Danault. He's more of a 4th liner/13th man. We'll definitely be adding another center who can play more minutes.

Still need a good D Man and a scorer.
Toffolli Suzuki Caufield
Drouin Kotkaniemi Anderson
Armia Evans Gallagher
Lehkonen Paquette Byron
Poehling
Ideally we add a 30 goal scorer and scratch a 4th liner.

Edmonson Petry
Chariot Savard
Romanov Wideman

Ideally we put Romanov and Savard on the bottom pairing.

Who is going to score our goals next season? Always the same issue with this team....lack of offense from both our forwards and backend...

There is little options to replace Weber so its hard to imagine any move that isnt a step back for this team.

We all know Chairot and Eddy played above par.

Gaping hole on left wing, Price uncertainty. Danault tho unspectacular leaves a void.

Feels like a Bergy special - transition yr. Lowered expectations

Huh? Suzuki, CC, Anderson, Toffoli?

That's the best offensive group in ages.

Depending how things play out, issues may be at Center and Defense, which are the other perennial issues. It's best goal scoring forward group in ages though.

I'm fine with that... I just don't want any desperate moves!

Paquette is rumored to be around 1 million (no source, what I've seen other posters saying, and would make sense based on his current salary and play)

Im ok with it to provided done the right way. Use cap space to acquire picks and prospects. No long term deals or NTC/NMC. Havent seen it done properly in Bergys career

Well the market tends to dictate stuff like that... you can't just walk away from everybody...

Has anybody confirmed this signing? He's a great fit. A guy that might do really well if given the right role.

Its not about walking away from everbody, its just about not tying yourself too long for bandaids. If you are, then the move not made is likely better then giving term or limitations like NTCs

Problem is you don’t know what to expect from either of them. CC is a rookie and after seeing him in the playoffs, teams will target him. Suzuki should be able to replicate but he struggled through multiple stretches last year. Which Toffoli will we see - the one who scored close to 30 goals or the one who disappeared in the playoffs? Anderson? He’s like Armia - one game he’s a superstar and then disappears for stretches.

And heaven forbid Suzuki gets hurt or slumps.
