DK had a tremendous game last night. Ironic that it happened once they took that useless plug off his line, no? Let's see a repeat for game 7, please...
That’s what happens when he has someone else that can skate and handle the puck, the other team can’t just focus on Krejci. Debrusk was also good last night, I hope they come up big Wednesday.

I think not putting Johansson on Krejci’s line was a big mistake looking back. Johansson was so good that he probably could have made Krejci and Debrusk better. Pretty frustrating he gets Backes and Kuhlman as RW in one of his best years.

I think the even bigger mistake is letting an injured Bergeron keep running between Marchand and Pastrnak.

It's hindsight for us, but they knew he was hurt.

Yep. Marchand-Krejci-Pastrnak was probably the most dangerous 5 on 5 line we had all year. For as much good as Cassidy did, he was too stubborn in some ways.

A hobbled Bergeron can be a great 3rd line C. Tell him to just worry about stopping the other team from scoring.

I would have ran the following:

Marchand-Krejci-Pastrnak
DeBrusk-Coyle-Johansson
Heinen-Bergeron-X

I agree on him being stubborn. DeBrusk has been nailed to Krejci's hip for some reason.

But with how quickly Cassidy always went back to the Bergeron line this year I knew he was going to keep them together no matter what. Would it kill them to break up Bergeron and Marchand? Krejci was good in the finals, maybe he sets up Marchand for a couple more goals.

this time last year I wanted them to cut bait with Krejci...now I see him as pretty indispensable. Had a phenomenal season. Maybe give him Marchand this year and see what happens.

I'd personally look to move DK now while his value is at the highest it's been in years. He's coming off one of his best statistical seasons and is not likely to match it going forward, and he's not getting younger. Tough to say that, but this is the cold hard reality in a cap world.

But what for?

Picks after you had the cup in your own building with a chance to win it?

2 bottom 6 forwards?

If there is a deal out there where DK is not the best player in it and we aren't adding that much and it works cap wise sure but I assume that is a stretch.

I say give this team one more year to win the Cup. It also gives management another year to see where Studnicka and Frederic are in their development and allows them to gauge if they can replace Krejci or not.

Why are the only two options picks or bottom 6 forwards?

I get what you're saying, but it's very rare that the losing team goes back to finals. I went back as far as 1980, and it's happened once, for whatever reason. Teams that have won have gone back, but that's different. The last team to lose, then get back there was the Penguins in 2008 and again in 2009. They lost then won, which again, is an even bigger rarity.

So factoring in the odds of them making a second straight cup run, and the RFAs they have this year and next, I simply see the time to make a bold move as being now. And the most logical move to make, IMO, is to sell Krejci while his value is as high as it will be.

Krejci might be a great trade deadline chip for the Bruins if they don’t look like a Stanley Cup team this year. A team wanting to load up might pay a hefty price for him. We can hope!

That's when he'll have the most value if the stars align that way .

The problem with this thought is that he's likely not going to be moved then because the Bruins will surely be in the playoffs. They have too much talent to not be. So the time to move DK is absolutely now if they're going to ever do it. The problem is that I highly doubt they'd even consider it.

Why DK? Why not 5 time Selke winner Bergeron?

Nor should they , unless Studnicka or Frederic make big strides ( not likely) you don't have a replacement.
