Who cares? Jones will have no authority, he'll glad hand while Briere does the real work.

We'll see soon enough if Briere is for real.

DH before today : "The organization is different, look at what they have been saying!"

DH now : "We have to wait and see if this stupid move matters yet, can't judge them based on this move."

Nothing says "different" like trying to turn all their coaches for 10 years into Tortorella, then finally giving up and just directly hiring Tortorella and giving him an unreasonable level of influence.

Management still at 0 mistakes everyone! Things are great!
so you would rather hire people that have no connections to the league, team, city? you really think that's going to make teams want to deal with you especially if a talented player that's on a no trade clause or in fa would want to come here all because they want to win and nothing else?

you have no clue what players want and that's why hiring the right people/connections matter to them or else, no one will come here.

League is fine... this distaster of a organization is the bad thing to use as a good idea to hire people influenced by

Teams have hired people with zero connections to the league, team, and city, and have had no problem acquiring players. Cooper, Tulsky, Chayka, Jarmo, Bednar, all those guys fit the description you gave and somehow they've been successful at getting players. Nobody fled them. Some have even won Cups. How can that be? Can you explain that?

Simply hire Jones as "Senior VP of Hockey Communications" and this gets little bad press.

Better yet, set up a monthly conference call between Camillo and Briere. Boom, I've solved our communications issues.

I cannot wrap my head around how far we've overcomplicated such a non-issue.
