12 Heinens on the roster... No thanks.
Someone mentioned heinen and a first for Virtanen...I think Vancouver might still be traumatized when they traded to us a player who was afirst rder too(Neely of course) and a first rder who ended up being Wesley.
If they bite on that ..I'd take it and run

You would trade Heinen + 1st for Jake Virtanen.............

Maybe you should refrain from discussing Heinen from here on out? It's quite clear with this horrendous comment that you have a serious biased against the player and are exactly what I described the other day. A typical fan who was loud about him to start, got very quiet when he showed he could play, and the moment he struggled, were back up thumping your chest.

I am really, really, really hoping he meant to say:

“Heinen for Virtanen and a 1st.”

Giving too much credit?

The good thing is you can bookmark the post and bring it up in 1 day 1 week 1 month 1 year every Christmas for the next decade to show him/her how clueless they are about this topic.

I just don't get how fans would actually like to weaken the team just because they don't like a player's style of play. I'm sure he's not the only one who would deal Heinen for someone like Virtanen/Ritchie/etc.

I don’t mind wanting to move Heinen but to be dealing anything more than a 6th rounder for Virtanen is horrible asset management.

I would love to get bigger and tougher but the names of Stewart and Virtanen being thrown around makes me wonder what games people watch ...

Tyler Bertuzzi is a guy they (arm chair GMs) should be targeting if that’s what you want. But most people have no idea who he is yet.

History repeats itself. Surely, Virtanen is the 2nd coming of Neely, and we just need to get him out of Vancouver so he can reach his ultimate potential!
The argument should be why wouldn’t you trade Heinen for a young Cam Neely? He’s brought up almost every time someone talks about trading for Virtanen lol

Another poster proposes that trade .I agreed with it yet you pleasantly and somewhat discretely attack this post( taking a chance on virtanen may very well be worthed) moreover a change of scenery and you never know
He was a sixth overall. When you get a guy at that talent level......you never know
Btw. Nothing personal against Heinen in fact there are other prospects in the past that I really had no interest of .Heinen is on the fence yet your reaction to another posters trade and my agreement with it makes it look like you think he is a superstar. Many said here he'd or expecting 50 pts plus...now down to 30 but oh how good he does everything else well.
Look you may think im underestaming him.So let's see this year let's leave it to the Bruins and see where he ends up?
Btw. I did like some of his top corner goals .

Not going to speak for BF94, but if another poster proposed that trade my reaction would have been exactly the same. Guessing the reason you get called out specifically is because you are on record as saying Heinen wouldn’t make it?

Dal Colle from the Isles is an even higher pick (5). Maybe we can trade Heinen + a 1st for him instead? I guess you are going to have to explain to me how Draft position matters over NHL success.

Sorry to but in here, but did I stumble into the Virtanen thread by mistake? Maybe the Neely thread?

Has Heinen "made it"? I think maybe more than one so-so year should be in the books before anyone says that he's "made it".

That proposal was actually made by me in the previous thread, and it was 100% sarcastic. I was making fun of anyone who would just give Heinen away.... The Bruins would be giving him away if the return was just Virtanen. It would be ridiculous to actually give that much up for a player like Virtanen. He's proven nothing thus far in his career.

He was a sixth overall. When you get a guy at that talent level......you never know

He was 6th overall... Wonderful. Yakupov was 1st overall. Connolly was 6th overall. After a certain point, their draft position means diddly. Honestly, it just seems to give them more value than they actually should hold. Does Heinen still hold the value of a 4th round pick? I'd say no. Does Carlo still hold the value of a 2nd round pick? How about Marchand and being a 3rd round selection. Jamie Benn in the 5th?

Btw. How is Heinen on the fence? I never said he was a superstar. He's a very good all around hockey player coming off a very good rookie season (despite this ridiculous notion that his 2nd half sucked). He's young and has room to grow still. I'm not just trading him away for some bust level player. I don't understand what the rest of the point here is. Expecting 50 points now down to 30? What????

Look you may think im underestaming him.So let's see this year let's leave it to the Bruins and see where he ends up?
Btw. I did like some of his top corner goals .

I do think you're underestimating him....Seeing you're willing to deal him with a 1st round pick for Jake Virtanen; someone who's proven nothing in the NHL thus far. I'm fine with leaving it to the Bruins seeing I don't have a say in anything they do anyway

He's going to end up somewhere in the Top 9....Not Providence, like you've hinted at in previous comments.

I hope he becomes a top 6 let alone a top 9 . Ok so that was sarcasm but why Virtanen?
I am fully aware that a sixth overall pick doesn't mean glory but im also aware that sometimes you make a trade for a potential high profile player and the change of scenery practically transforms him. Virtanen was a high profile player when he was drafted and maybe he'll do didley a la Strome(both Bros) ifhe gets traded or maybe he explodes . I'd be willing to make that trade .
An ex of this was Kyle Turris
Did squat in Phoenix but posted some good numbers some seasons in Ottawa. There are other Turris' the organization has to find them and take a chance
Now it's obvious giving Heinen in your opinion is giving too much(wasn't focusing on bruins number 1 btw) it was mostly for me Danton one for one but here's a question since correct me if im wrong but this trade to you and you may be right sounds postperous but do you think without doubt that Vancouver makes that trade in an instant?

"Draft position matters over NHL success"
Glory I am fully aware that there plenty of late picks that did extremely well in the NHL
March, Benn, panarin, Ok Subban,
Point looks real good, kucerov,
Bergeron, Chara, krejci, Hossa,
Kuznetsov, Gaudreau, many goalies( not goin write them all)
Etc etc...none of these were first Rd choices and there are many more
But be careful here draft position in general has significance
I can list them but there are way too many elite players that were indeed number one picks .
Having said that nope im not interested in college but Virtanen although has done squat in Vancouver I am willing to take a chance on..He is a power forward with very good size , a strong shot and high skating acceleration .
He's no slouch eventhough his numbers suck thus far.. the kid has many qualities I like , qualities I am willing to take a chance on

If you're going to trade for a guy hoping that a change of scenery makes him something more than a scrub, you don't trade a guy like Heinen. You trade either later picks or guys who are in a similar situation on your end. Trading a guy who had a good rookie season for a guy that you hope will rebound with a change of scenery is insane.

Vancouver would take that deal and hang up before Sweeney could hear them laughing at him

Imagine what we could get if we brought back Hamill? (#8 OA in 2007). Throw in maybe Caron who was #25 OA in 2009. Sweeney will be swimming in 1st rounders for next season!!

Yes, I think Vancouver takes Heinen for Virtanen, one-for-one in a heartbeat.

From a Bruins standpoint, I'd deal Heinen for Virtanen in a heartbeat. Virtanen plays a position we need and isn't afraid to hit. Let's face it, we already have a roster full of Heinens.

I don’t get why people would trade a proven capable top 6 forward for a guy who couldn’t crack the top 6 for Vancouver’s AHL squad? You want that type of player fine. You can go get it for much less than Heinen. You know the type of guys you get in trades for Heinen and a first? Guys like Panarin.

I do think Virtanen needs to get out of Vancouver. Seems to me like a hometown kid who is feeling the pressure of playing at home.

I don't agree at all that the Canucks make that deal Again you're talking about a guy who is struggling in the NHL but is a power forward talent.
Don't know how old you are but the bruins traded Pederson who was I suppose a star at least his numbers showed that ...they traded him for Neely who was a young power forward who granted scored 20 in his second season but in an era where 20 goals seemed much more common but then dropped the following year.
At the time of the trade many felt we got had by trading a "star" for a
"Goin" like player .. Bradley the bruins scouts at the time inisisted they grab Neely ....the rest is history.
Now Virtanen is no Neely im im quite sure of that but he does have some serious credentials that if it translates at the Nhl level....watch out.
