According to CapFriendly, the 50% of games clause is for the first 2 rounds of the playoffs. So if it's only 4 weeks or around that, he'd be back for the playoffs.

It's entirely feasible that it takes that long to recover and considering there are about half a dozen other mediocre teams fighting for a spot, it wouldnt be surprising for the Stars to drop out of the playoff race given their usual play this time of the year.
