The players participating in U20 summer camps. Majority of the roster for 2012 WJC will probably come out of that group. Guys with bolded club are very likely to make the team already now. The rest will depend on the season and whether the players will make Extraliga teams, because it always plays big role in deciding who goes and who stays at home.

Goaltenders:
Tadeáš Galanský (Saginaw Spirit, OHL)
David Honzík (Victoriaville Tigres, QMJHL)
Libor KašÃk (HC Zlín)
Tomáš Král (Lillehammer, Norway)
Matěj Machovský (Brampton Battalion, OHL)
Petr Mrázek (Ottawa 67's, OHL)

I'm not sure about Mrazek, I think there is still that issue with Vitkovice where they won't let him play for the national team because he refused to renew his contract.

Also, why do you think Jank will make it? He hardly played in the extraliga, and he finished off his season in NA. I didn't follow his season in NA tbh, but I wouldn't say he's likely to make the team.

I know about Mrazek, but he'd still make it if he was available. There is plenty of time, so anything can happen. Jank will make it almost certainly I think. History shows that when you have Dman in NA who's even coming back for his second WJC, then you take him. Of course it's hard to make comparisons with other guys playing at home, that's what friendly games will show. But still I think he'll make the team quite easily. I could be wrong of course.

Btw. I think they should try also Petr Placek. I know nearly nothing about him, but he's big and he appeared in some scouting lists for 2011 draft before he got injured during the season. Why not to give him chance?

And I also wonder why Daniel Sobotka never got a chance in the national team. Maybe Czechexpert could tell us some info about him?

Sobotka´s hockey sense is very average and needs to use his great size much better as he is not very aggressive player but he definitely belongs there. He is much better than many D on the list and actually I´m missing a few more D there who are better than guys like Predota, Eminger, Zovinec. Predota is very bad player even at junior Extraleague level.

Why aren't Stransky, Nedomlel, Placek or Sedlak there? I'd think that they'd all have a good shot at making the WJC team, considering they're all some of the Czech's top prospects.

Bunda, Pokorny and Nemecek have all had a really good U17 Five Nations tournament. Nemecek has been a rock, Bunda has scored two goals IIRC, and Pokorny has been a sparkplug.

If you want a report on any of the other players or something more in-depth, lemme know. I've seen all three Czech games so far and I will see the other one as well.

Would like to get report on Pisarik, Beranek, Kokes, Zdrahal, Kohout, Indrak and Kubalik. Thanks
I hardly seen Bunda and Nemecek so far but I really liked Pokorny last season.

Nice article with Robert Reichel on IIHF: http://www.iihf.com/home-of-hockey/news/news-singleview/article/captain-czech-is-back.html?tx_ttnews%5BbackPid%5D=955&cHash=a10192d3bd. Brings back some memories! We were so lucky to have this man on our squad all those years. I hope somebody like him is hidden on his U16 team.

First bigger event under Reichel and first win. Going unbeaten through the whole tournament. U16 looks pretty strong this year.

Czech Republic U16 - Austria U17 7:3
Czech Republic U16 - Russia U16 7:4
Canada U16 - Czech Republic U16 1:8 !!!
Czech Republic U16 - Russia U16 6:5

Beating Russians twice on one tournament :handclap::yo:

True, but I think last year 95's lost by many goals with Russians and finished 4th. Can't be bad if they won it now.

However 95´is very weak, they were not able to beat Switzerland and Germany two weeks ago.
It depends if Czech team was more skilled, better skating, smarter. Or if they were bigger, more physically developed playing with better system.
