Full text from Amonte, most definitely said between shoveling donuts into his face.

“That’s just not good enough,” Amonte said. “You’re in the Stanley Cup Final. You play until you can’t play anymore. You give whatever you can to your organization. That’s what most guys do.

“I admire the way he plays. He’s a very good player – he’s got a Stanley Cup on his resume. (But) he’s not the guy with the highest pain threshold in the NHL. If you look back to his stats and throughout his career, he usually plays about 60 games and takes about 20 or 30 off every year, just to make sure he’s fresh for the postseason. So he’s not a guy that will play through a lot of injuries.

...and here are the number of games hossa has played every year. i'm sure no one will be surprised that he doesn't in fact take "20 or 30 off every year"

Marian Hossa is one of the last players on this team that should be criticized. He sure picked a bad time to miss a game though.

Ill take Bollig AND Smith over Carcillo anyday. We dont need another addition to the lineup taking dumb penalties.

The problem being that any one of Carcillo, Smith, Morin have not played hockey in weeks, and 2 of them aren't even NHL'ers. Asking them to come in and contribute now is asking a lot.

Need as much offense as possible at this point. Smith should play over Stalberg IMO, but it has to be one of them. If Carcillo went in over Bollig, maybe he could have kept himself in but we're down 2-1, need to throw everything we can at Rask.

Unless Hossa can't go, I have to disagree about Smith. I'm sure he's eager enough but it's just not fair to put him in now, unless it is due to an injury.

No surprise that Smith was a step behind most of the game and looked bad on their first goal.

Free Carcillo, huh?

Okay! The Chicago Blackhawks will trade him on draft day.

I think Handzus has been a major issue for Chicago. Man is he sloooowwwww! He seems out of gas to me.

you mean other then bailing them out in game 6 in Detroit, and having a real good series against LA?

I guess it really is what have you done for me lately......

Handzus managed to lose every single faceoff last night. 0% in the dot. His total ineffectiveness is letting other teams just sit everyone on Toews while Kane and Sharp basically play shorthanded. This is unfortunately a fatal weakness of the Hawks and it's being exploited.

Some Hawks defensemen are playing like cowards against Lucic etc *cough Hjalmarsson* which isn't acceptable either.

They better decide whether or not they want to really work for it tomorrow or they might as well start packing their golf bags.
