He deserves credit for this off-season and off-season is still early.

Happy to go to sleep.

Blues had a damn good day today. As a Stars fan, I'm just happy to have Reaves go East, lol.

Great draft and trades for the Blues and Army, and on the same day the Blackhawks offload some key players. Happy day.

I'll say this for Army: these trades were a lot ballsier than I would have given him credit for. Kudos to him for getting some of that mojo back.

We got Brayden Schenn and two very solid forward prospects - a C and RW.

Our biggest needs were just met.

And one of those first rounders came from trading a 4th-liner...

I'm pretty shocked right now. Just gained youth and skill. Good job, Armstrong. You finally won some trades.

We actually have the room now to sign Parayko to a long term deal. I get the feeling that we aren't done, and may make a big move when FA starts. Pretty sure my girlfriend is going to boycott our games this season, now that Reaves is gone. She was not happy at all.

I hate to see him go as well. Loved having him on the team when other teams got chippy. Hopefully Edmondson and Bortz can pick that role up, but I don't ever see them being as effective as Reavo. At least we should see a drop in penalties. Warranted or not, he was always getting calls based solely off of his reputation.

Fantastic day for this franchise. Thomas reminds me more and more of schwartz and Kostin has gamebreaker potential.

We are in fantastic shape as we move out of the retool/transition. Will have tons of high end prospects to infuse into our lineup over the next couple of years.

Would love to see us package gunnar and our 5th for a 2nd to grab nic hague, if hes gone then Marcus Davidsson, joni ikonen or heponiemi

I fully expect a trade of Gunnarrsson and/or Jaškin, and The Blues trading back into The 2nd Round. I also expect them to clear more cap space, sign Parayko to a long-term deal, and also add a UFA centre upgrade. They next few days and weeks should be very interesting and heartwarming for Blues fans! :handclap::handclap::handclap:

If the Blues find a way to move Lehtera, Perron, and Gunnrrson all in the span of one week, i might **** myself.

My god the more i watch klim kostin the more i luv this deal..

This could go down as one of the greatest days in blues history. Also, eerily reminiscent to the 2010 draft (no kostin does not shoot like senko) but still u get my point.

I see alot of Rick Nash(in his prime) in Kostin and i see alot of schwartz(but at C) in Robert Thomas

It's unusual for most of us to be happy after Army makes a deal these last couple years. Good job Armstrong.

Armstrong haters of the world - REPENT.

He's always been the same guy who made all these great moves yesterday. It took time to get into this position to deal from.

The Cup will come here thanks to Tom Stillman and Doug Armstrong.

Eh, we're far away from Stanley Cup team. No 1c yet. This draft was showcase of Armystrong accept his mistakes (Lehterä) and pay the price for it get it behind.

But how he has handled things and how well he worked out this 'Lehterä mess' was superb job from him. I'll give tap on his shoulder. One good off-season work and he gained believe and trust his fans. Now I believe he can do his job well. Time will tell can he full fill the team need.

1. Next thing is made great contract with Parayko.
2. Find a away get 1c.
3. Real Stanley Cup contender and change to win it.

It's nice to see two moves that were not only beneficial, but well thought out given the position we are in and what we wanted. I still am having trouble identifying a single identity on who we are as a team, but it looks like we are trying to emulate a system of physicality and scoring potential on every line. But in the end, both moves were fine moves, and that's all we've wanted to say for so long.

Were these trades a net positive? Definitely. But, it's not as if his years of mishaps are somehow redeemed.

Armstrong overpaid for Schenn. He did that because he had to include Lethera...who he gave a terrible contract.

Schenn has his flaws and he isn't a center. He is a bit of a specialist too. He is a good player, but far from perfect.

The Reaves trade made the Schenn trade work out. So it was solid all around, but I get the feeling that a lot of people think Armstrong redeemed himself. Personally, I think he just started the process of redemption.
