They said they’re keeping 14 forwards:

  1. Keller
  2. Hayton
  3. Schmaltz
  4. Maccelli
  5. Cooley
  6. Crouse
  7. Zucker
  8. Bjugstad
  9. Guenther
  10. Kerfoot
  11. McBain
  12. Boyd
  13. Carcone
  14. O’Brien

If you think Guenther is being sent down, who do you think is staying up?!?

Two of Soderstom, Dermott and Szuber will stay and one will go to Tucson.

I'm guessing Szuber goes down because of age and experience.

They said they’re keeping 7D and I think Dermott has won a job.

  1. Moser
  2. Dumba
  3. Valimaki
  4. Durzi
  5. Stecher
  6. Brown
  7. Dermott
Right. I left Dumba out of.my count by accident.

So just one of Dermott, Soderstom and Szuber gets to stay.

Guenther’s NHL career/82 is 15g 22a 37pts. Does anyone doubt he’s going to be able to improve on that rate? Are we expecting a cheap, young, >0.50ppg player to hit the waiver wire?

I think Guenther makes the team, finds his game and puts up 20g 25a 45pts.

There goes my prediction of Boyd being waived. He'll likely be a routine healthy scratch for the team.

Zachary Sanford is still around. His contract is a two-way. He hasn't really been that impressive to me in the games I've seen but you never know.

I think Guenther sticks, unless he shits the bed in the early going.

I think these next two games will decide that.

Guenther has 4pts in 6 games in the preseason including the 1-rookie game he's played...pretty much the same as Hayton and others...pretty sure he's making the club.
He’s been relatively invincible the games I’ve watched. I won’t count the rookie game, he should have had those points, or more.

Great prospect, but hasn’t done anything to cement himself as a sure in, that’s my opinion though and that usually doesn’t mean much haha

What’s he done to prove otherwise?

The beauty with Guenther is that Tucson isn't far. I want to give him a long look and then decide if he needs to go dominate somewhere. But if we need to send him down I have no problem with that either.

The Coyotes cap guy said on Craig’s podcast that the team is at 49 contracts but CapFriendly shows 48. Who is missing?

I didn't get to see the game tonight. PP1 should be Moser though no?
We’ll see I guess…probably still finalizing things and getting different live looks. Tonight looked like the units were

Schmaltz-Hayton-Guenther
Keller-Durzi

Maccelli-Bjugstad-Crouse
Moser-Zucker

Could be wrong on unit two but I thought that’s who I saw. Not really sure why they wouldn’t just swap Bjugstad for Cooley. Let him take the draw and then move to the wing and have Crouse in front.
