Hey... sorry if this is the wrong thread, or if it's been posted elsewhere... I did try to search back over the last several months, however, and couldn't find anything.

Is anyone aware of the schedule for signing bonuses this year?

The only change to signing bonus dates I'm aware of are any contract extensions signed after Dec 1st 2020 and beginning in the 2021-22 season cannot have signing bonuses payable before July 28th for the 2021-22 season.

I assume all other signing bonuses are paid on the normal schedule. With the caveat that the payments are treated as occurring in the 2021-22 season even if paid before July 28th.

Thanks so much - that was what I thought but when I tried to do some research I was coming up empty.

AND if player gets picked in expansion draft, Seattle has to pay original team any player bonuses due/paid July 1

I'm thinking there should be an agreement on middle number between now and game 3.

It was reasonable request IMO. It's going to keep the resale prices high though.

Typically around draft time league would disclose preliminary HRR numbers. I understand cap is frozen for next season so no stress to come up with a new cap number ahead of UFA season. Still curious if something has or is expected to be released soon. Would be interesting to get a better insight into real impacts of COVID.

While cap remains flat, escrow withholding is tied to 21 season prelim HRRs.

14% if Preliminary HRR for the 2020/21 League Year equals or exceeds $3.3 Billion;
18% if Preliminary HRR for the 2020/21 League Year equals or is below $1.8 Billion;
pro-rata rate in between $1.8 Billion and $3.3 Billion (e.g. Escrow Percentage of 16% if HRR is $2.55 Billion)

This will impact withholdings from signing bonuses so there is some motivation announcing prelim HRR sooner than later.
